Don't do like I did and use your GPS navigator to get to an outcall location. Especially if your SO shares it with you. I thought of that at the last moment and was frantically trying to delete the trail!
The OP was lamenting that his GPS keeps a "trail" of exactly where the GPS has been. So even without typing in an address, it would still show his coming to your location since the GPS actually went there. Even if you are not routing to a specific destination, it keeps a "breadcrumb" trail of exactly where the GPS has been. Some of them even keep a date/time stamp with the location information which can be downloaded to a computer. So if someone wanted to they could see that they stopped for x number of hours at a specific location.
What you are talking about is the history of previously entered locations that the person wanted to visit. In that case, then not giving the specific address is perfectly acceptable, and in general is a good idea since there is probably an excuse that can be made to visit a gas station or restaurant or something like that.
Your right, not only does the GPS keep a record of user entered destinations for recall, but it might also behave much like the "little black box" recording your travels while it is "on".
We are seeing a local gent next weekend at a nearby resort, had it not been for his mentioning that he relies on his GPS we would not have known to warn him that it might be best to turn that sucker off to avoid creating a trail of breadcrumbs to a suspicious location.

My inexpensive Magellan saves previous destinations & such. I have learned to delete them. I'm sure it could be recalled by some forensic expert but I'd already be bagged before then. My SO things GPS is unnecessary.
I never use the exact address even if I know it. I find a nearby adress to use. I would suggest that ladies come up with an address for the first call... they can give directions from there. Like was said, a gas station, hardware store, resturant... inocent enough.

I have my own GPS and my SO has her's. She never has a need to use mine. Besides, my work takes me all over the county and it wouldn't look out of place to have all these addresses entered. I hate it when providers won't give you a address and instead give you general directions. Some of these places are pretty hard to find, especially at night. I normally use Google Maps to get a overview of the area and select an address that is pretty close to the meet.
I'm usually great with directions, so I don't really need a GPS unit. With a map (the paper kind) and a compass to show which direction I'm going, I can find my way pretty easily in most locations, familiar or otherwise. I recommend doing the same for you, since a paper map and a magnetic compass leave no trail at all. So unless you're going to an outer suburb, where streets twist and turn every which way, a map and a compass should serve you just fine.
I shut my Magellan off when not in use... it can kill the car battery overnight if left on accidentally. This might not be an option with a built in system.
