Is it appropriate to ask about experiences with a particular provider if she has only 1 or 2 reviews and you are concerned about her being legitimate?

then yes, I'd say that is always appropriate and often a good way to learn more about the provider in question.

Why does it matter if she has 2 or 20 reviews?

Of course it matters whether there's 2 or 20 reviews. Reviews are available for a fee.  For example, just the other day I saw a profile with two reviews and both were obviously fakes (obvious to me, anyway).  I got one taken down but the other is still there.

It's a lot harder to fake 20 reviews.  Also, the more reviews, the better idea you can get of what to expect when the door opens.

I took MrFisher's question in a different way. I didn't think he was asking why would the number of reviews matter in the grand scheme of p4p. I thought he was asking the OP why would the number of reviews a given woman has effect whether or not it's okay to PM the reviewers? Maybe.

Anyways, to the OP: TBH I wasn't sure what you were asking. If you're considering asking the provider which sex acts she does and doesn't do.....don't.

Most people are horrible at lying, and a few well chosen questions could blow away any myths that may be in a review.

First of all, I agree with mrfisher. Or do I? Maybe I'm lying. You never know ...
.
But the OP might also be referring to the occasional Local Discussion Board asking, "Does anybody know Name?" Indeed, a new Provider might have reviews stuck in the queue or had visitors who had not yet submitted a review. Some will reply to such a board post with info: "Seen her. She's legit" or more. Some will reply to such a request more rudely.
.
I also thought OP actually wanted to know about PMing each of the 1 or 2 reviewers.  First, look at the reviewers' review history. Someone with lots of credible reviews versus someone whose first and only review is this Provider. I say, yes, it's OK to PM the reviewers. However, PMing the one-review guy might not be worth it. Two or three very new, recently approved reviews? Now it's borderline cred. You'll need to use your judgement. Not lying.
.
Since you are newbie and an unknown entity, you should not ask for too much info via PM. You will just be ignored. Keep the Qs simple and innocent and non-sexual (until you have more cred). "Does she have tattoos?" versus "Does she scream a lot when getting fucked in the ass? Should I bring my own earplugs or does she provide them?
