Really confused about something. I'm really concerned about bringing home something to the Mrs. so the question is this. I always see in reviews that a BBBJ seems to be the norm but a cover for Mish, etc is always used. Isn't there risk with a BBBJ or is it minimal? Anyone have info beyond the generic medspeak? Thanks.

Now...remember that there are lots of qualifying factors here, such as whether there are cuts or sores, and even the CDC says it's tough to isolate oral sex's risk because oral sex is typically conducted along with intercourse and/or other things such as anal sex.

If you're that worried, ask for a CBJ.

Life is about risks and rewards.  If you can't get comfortable with the risk/reward profile, then use a condom for oral sex.

of bare back blow jobs and the only detrimental effect has been a considerable lightening of my wallet!  I've also been involved with some girls in this industry who doing bbbj & swallowing was their stock in trade who also never contracted anything.  Hell, we figured out one time that Kyndal must have sucked off at least a thousand guys to completion in a two year period and she never got anything!  Have to keep in mind that a place like the CDC is also very much going to err on the side of caution here.  Very unlikely that a governmental agency going to recommend any behavior that has even a slight risk!

I'm new here, but my two cents came from the CDC back in the '80 s they sent out Memo to medical profs that you could contract aids from deep French kissing but not swapping a little spit, that tears could transmit aids so beware of contact lenses etc. it's their job to be cautious but I guarantee you I'm not paying for a covered bj. Still, err on the side of caution and get checked out for stds  according to the frequency of your liaisons .

I agree with crazyshit. Any time you engage in activities that involve risk, you have to be prepared to pay the price. If the price is not what you are willing to pay then you shouldn't engage in those activities. My advice is to know the risk and do your best to minimize it.

life is a risk..there is no reward without it..if every one of us always worried about the risks involved in our hobby..there would be no hobby..we would all live our lives cowering in fear of the unknown..

I have a Mrs and I've got the same fear as you so I did a ton of research before starting up the hobby. Your primary risk is from gonorrhea.  The chance of getting any of the other STDs from BBBJ is almost zero. (Try www.medhelp.org if you want to verify this for yourself.)  I believe it takes 10 days or so for G to show up on a test so all you need to do is make sure you get tested before resuming sex with the wife.  G is quite curable, though I have read about a drug resistant strain coming to the forefront. My wife and I have sex about 4 times a year so this is easy for me to manage and, quite frankly, if your wife is giving it to you regularly, you shouldn't be hobbying to begin with. :-)  Finally, your chances of even getting G in the hobby is minimal since providers get tested so often.  That being said, ALWAYS get a test before resuming sex with the wife or you will have some serious explaining to do it you do manage to pass something on to her, however unlikely that may be.

BTW, if you are married, STDs are only one of the things you need to worry about. Get a hobby phone, keep your computer clean, be discrete, and read the boards like crazy.  It took me 6 months of research and planning before I felt firewalled enough to see my first provider.

and these condoms allow for tons of sensation.  You are better safe than sorry, and how will you be able to fully relax and enjoy yourself if you are thinking about STD's during oral?

Best of luck to you!

Of course, that could very well be that she is drop-dead, Playboy-model gorgeous, way cool, or that she is just great in bed.

But the condoms weren't a factor in getting off, like they have been with other girls.

Thanks for all of the responses. Really helpful. Thanks again.

Some providers have posted that they have a time interval between brushing teeth and BBBJ, and encourage that in clients, but how fast micro lesions heal would vary in individuals, and a study would be difficult to say the least.

However, there is risk but it is terifically low--I can't give you a number, but it's low enough not to worry me if the client doesn't have any lesions and the provider doesn't.

When the mouth and tongue are healthy and uncut, the chance of getting a sexually transmitted infection (STD) through oral sex is quite uncommon, though possible. Sores or scrapes in the mouth present a ready passage-way for virus or bacteria to enter the blood stream. Unless you're 100 percent sure of your partner's clean bill of sexual health, it's a good idea to use protection if any cuts, tears, sores or scrapes are present in the mouth (even tiny sores, like accidentally biting your tounge). Additionally, after you've had your wisdom teeth yanked, a root canal performed, or your dentures re-fitted, it's wise to stay away from unprotected oral sex (even if your partner is STI-free, your dentist would probably advocate treating your mouth gently after any of these procedures).

STDs like gonorrhea, syphilis, Chlamydia, HPV, and HIV can be transmitted through pre-cum or ejaculate. Herpes, especially when cold sores are present, can also be passed on through oral sex. Although these cases are very, very, very rare, transmission is possible.

Good providers do care a great deal, and are attentive to staying as healthy as possible .
