They say that are from your bank or doctor's office, etc. and just want to confirm your loan application, medical insurance, etc.

I have not ever heard of anything negative occuring as a result of such inquiries.

... such as Date-Check does. You give them the alias and call excuse so to speak so that way you recognise who is calling if the call goes through a front desk or some such system.

A provider never called my work, but RS2K did, when I was getting verified.  The woman working there simply called the main switchboard, asked for me by name, and got transferred to my extension.  That's all there was to it.

A provider will ask for a work number just to make sure you are who you say you are. They want to make sure you actually work in Real Estate , at the bank, as an accountant, etc. They dont really ask you anything pertaining to your work, other than to make sure you work there and that you are not a cop. It's for their safety and protection.

Just as the women in this hobby don't use their real names, I would prefer to do the same.  I'm not comfortable having a provider know who I really am and where I work.  Especially, if there was ever some kind of issue ... i.e., a review she isn't happy with.  So count me out on giving out work info.

to see a provider who insists on knowing who you are first.

Think about it:  If you find a provider who doesn't give a damn about doing this level of screening, you open yourself up to three possible problems:  One is that she is a rip-off artist who may have a boyfriend at the ready to deal with you, the second is that she doesn't care enough about her own safety, so what does that say about her and finally, she's LE.

You are much safer seeing someone who does want work and/or other personal info about you.

I totally agree.  A guy has to be insane to give out that information about work/real name.  I can see someone posting that information all over the internet, or being published in the local papers if the news media gets involved which happens every time one of these madams gets busted.

Gals who are professional and care about our reputations would not ever show up at your work or call your house for kicks. Nor would we post your name and phone number online. Because: 1) What would we gain from that?? It would do more harm than good, given that if we betray a man's trust it WILL get out, and usually sooner rather than later, and we will lose our business and respect; and 2) If someone were to try something like this- who would believe them? What is this gal going to do, show up at your home or work and say- I'm a prostitute and this man had sex with me?? LOL.

Furthermore, if I am going to be alone with a man and offer him my body and the most intimate of activities, I am damn well going to know his real name. If he can't trust me with his real name, I don't think I can trust him with my body and my safety.

Trust Is A Two-Way Street.

Furthermore I'm willing to bet that the majority of guys unwilling to provide real name and work info to a provider, have no problem providing their real name and credit card number on line which is a far riskier affair than disclosing name/work info to a provider.

my .02 cents

The guy that finds it dangerous to share that information seems to think (all too often) that he's dealing with some dirty skank.

I can certainly understand why a lady would not want to be around a guy that doesn't value the time he gets to spend with her.  Any time that I've been with a lady that I found disappointing in ANY way, I could look back and find where I failed at my research.  Screening is the lady's equivalent of research.

If it means I miss out on a top lady then so be it there  is NO WAY I give my real info out to an escort/agency and I avoid out calls when I can.  It's not like they tell me their real names... even if they did.  Every day you hear of madams busted and exposing their black books I can't risk my career going down the drain over a 1hr rendevous I can't even remmember 5 years after

There are enough quality ladies who are well reviewed(reducing the chances they are LE)and do not insist on so called screening.  You have to let some go!

The thought of my details being kept in a black book is scary.
