Just curious about how many "hobbyists" use aliases and has it alleviated problems to some degree?

No not really when I contacting providers; I give out my real handle for screening, just for other purposes like inquiring about providers whereabouts, habits, etc when I may not want them to know it is me.

Apparently some hobbyists resist giving out any personal information, and therefore only see gals who do no screening of any real value.

I suppose the hobbyist is glad to avoid giving out his information and that gives him a sense of well being, but I think it is misplaced because he is seeing a gal who doesn't play safe, and that could be an even bigger problem.

I suggest that you do give a provider your real name, etc.; and only see well reviewed providers.

On the other hand, some hobbyists will be leary of giving out info to an alias.
