I have a wireless router I paid about 70 bucks for and love it. It also changes your IP. I pay 35 a month and you can surf in your damn car if you so choose lol.

Sign up for for one of the VPN services and use it through the hotel internet.  A VPN will encrypt and tunnel all network traffic and send it out through the remote computer.  The hotel staff won't be able to see what you're doing and it'll get around any restrictions they might have in place.

That said, hotel internet usually sucks too.  I often get much better speeds using my iPhone as a hotspot if I'm in an area with LTE.

just as some hotels will wink at providers as long as they keep a low profile but the next will kick a provider out or call LE...  There are some hotels who force the expelled provider to sign a trespass form.
