for providers to insist on a real name, and then some.

They have to make their safety number one.

Of course some hobbyists will never give us their real names, and that is their right; however the only gals who will see them are those who do not take their personal safety that seriously.

Personally, I'd rather chance giving out my name to a gal who values her safety rather than see a gal who does not play safely.

We each make our own decisions in this.

I guess I'm not actually a newbie, but I don't have a ton of experience either and have a newbie type question.  A provider with several TER reviews is not a member of P411 or any other screening service.  She's asking for my real name for screening purposes.  How typical is it for providers to ask for this and for hobbyists to actually comply.  Also, how "dumb" would it be for me to provide the requested personal info?  Thanks for any help.

do not want to comply, move on.

A lady has a every right to feel safe with whomever she chooses to spend her time.  Providers should NOT compromise their screening methods.

There are many ways providers screen, and getting your real name is just one item they use.  If you don't feel comfortable giving your name, move on.  There are many providers who will accept you without it, just be sure you do your research on them.

First of all, don't give out any info you are uncomfortable giving out unless and until you ARE comfortable doing so.  Your comfort level might depend on the provider and her reputation (reviews), time in the business (several years of success = dependable and trustworthy), and so on.

There are agencies that some providers accept because you give those agencies your info and they verify you and then verify to the provider that are a real, verifiable person (I think without giving away your personal info, but I've never been on the provider so I don't know about that).   There is P411, Date-Check, and ... what's the other one, RS2000 or something
