I've been searching for and emailing a few providers the past few weeks, looking for someone who will take a first timer. I began an email exchange with a provider who had good reviews (20+, 8/10 avg), prefacing my email with the fact that I have never seen a provider before and was looking for someone who was ok with that. Many providers (her included) require one or more references  in order to be cleared, which I don't have. I paid for the P411 subscription to make it easier to screen me. In her first reply she simply asked me to fill out her online form, give her my P411 number, and then we can begin scheduling. I got a cold that week and emailed her back saying I would have to postpone scheduling. Then, last week I restarted the conversation and filled out her online form, as asked. On the same email chain, she emails back saying that "if I didn't have references, she couldn't see me". I said, "Ok. I'm new at this and don't have references. Thanks anyway". The end, or so I thought.

Today she emails me asking if I want to schedule for this upcoming weekend. Now I'm confused. I will email her back and restate that she would be my first provider. My question is, should I be suspicious? I'm not a suspicious kind of person, but, by saying I'm new, doesn't that make me a target? She has good reviews and a good website, so aside from her short and mixed emails, I have nothing to suspect. I just don't want to walk into a room, lay $400-$500 on a table, and be confronted by a dude name Big John.

Am I over thinking it? Why would she suddenly change her mind like that?  Thanks

If her email box was full and she was busy replying to emails, there's a good chance that she didn't read over the past emails and treated yours like it was the first contact.

Later, maybe after she had her coffee, she was going back over the emails trying to remember who she emailed and who she didn't and she ran across your old email and thought "I wonder if he might like to reschedule" and so sent you a new email.

It happens.

If she has alot of reviews and they are all good reviews, she is very likely legit and you should go ahead and set up the rescheduled session.

Yes, unless the e-mails were "Re:", then she probably was not aware it was you at the time.

If the lady has 20 plus good reviews, she is most likely very legit. I believe Naomi may be correct. Some of these ladies receive more emails than you can imagine. So yes, it is likely she has mistaken you for someone else. You could contact her again and remind her that you have no references. Maybe add that if that is not ok with her, if it would be ok to contact her in the future after you have references. That may show her that you are really interested and nit just wasting her time. If she says she wont see you without a reference, thank her and move on.

If she won't see you, then go back to p411, and search for newbie friendly ladies. They will say newbie friendly or "will see all p411 members," or will see "basic." Stay away from the ones saying "basic plus 1," "basic plus 2" etc. you will have to wait until you get OKs to see those. Even if you find ladies on P411, you should still cross check gere for reviews.
