I am curious about whether or not it is ok to post a new ad even if you already have one up.  

For instance, with some boards, you can "edit" your ad and it gets refreshed to the top. To my knowledge, that is not possible here. So, I would like to know if I can repost or something to that effect.

ad every 7 days on your regional board. There is a time limit as to when you can "edit an ad" which I think is 2 hours. Editing does not move your post higher up the page.

The only exception to the 7-day rule is for touring ladies who are visiting several cities.  It's all explained in the self help center.  And you are correct, editing an ad does not move it up the page.  The window for editing is short, and it really doesn't help much, except for correcting mistakes made by the poster.
