I googled my ter handle and the search came up with a link to all my posts. WTF??

I haven't had that happen since using Firefox.

Google my TER handle, and what do you get?  Endless pages about a certain great rock band.  It's nice to get lost in the shuffle for once...

it when I changed last year.  The smart-asses will say that's how many posts I've made in my time, but I just beat them to it.  

I wonder what might have changed. I hope it's not because I downloaded and used Chrome a few times just recently. Perhaps it's time to change handles to WillSmith.

If you're handle is too close to your name you may want to change it.

Google doesn't search a site unless the site contacts google.

I'm 52 and still learning how stupid I can be.

It seems to me that these forums should be unavailable to the entire world.

I'm just freaked out because my TER handle is used for something else.

and was mildly freaked out until I had the same thought as IMALLIN.  There have been some good suggestions here today.  I searched this topic and really didn't turn up much; makes me wonder if "Choosing a ter handle/username" should be added to the Newbie Manual? (Particularly for us techno-dummies)

My TER reviewing handle is a phrase from my childhoof that no living person would understand...  and also brings up common hits as well.  But it will come up in Google.

Since being VIP, I created a posting alias which has no links to my life...  or my reviewing handle...  But it too will come up in Google.

Oh, yes, my private e-mail has no link to current life or my TER handles, etc.

I believe that TER will change your handle to a more secure one "once" if you ask nice...  Others have done it.

TER didn't come up in the first 10 pages.  That's what I get for choosing a character from British literature/TV.  

But something interesting did pop up!  See the link!!  Bernie Madoff is not the only scammer around.  Maybe I can get my car back when it's sold at auction to reimburse the victims.

Just now I did exactly that. Doctors, lawyers, such a respectable fraterity share my name.

When I first signed up, I only intended to lurk, and picked a username that was pretty easy to associte to me. They changed it for me and narrowly avoided some pain, as I had a review pending to post.
