Accounting for Distance

After my searching, I have found somebody I am interesting contacting. I arrived on this because she has commuted about an hour to the city I will be in frequently. However, I have read in reviews of other providers that some include travel time in their charge for the evening. My question is, does this policy act as the exception rather than the rule? And if so, how do I approach this subject so I can be prepared for a seamless transaction come the night of? Thank you in advance.

Usually it will be posted on her site.  She may charge a fee.  For instance, an additional $25 for every 30 mins. over the first 30 mins.  Or she may want minimum appointments.  For instance, if she must travel 1-1.5 hours, she requires a 2 hour appointment.  Everyone is different.  If she posts nothing of the sort, it's not out of line to ask if she has a travel or distance charge for the commute.  If she doesn't and you feel bad about her having to drive so far, a small tip to cover gas would be nice.

If you bring it up, she'll probably throw in a travel amount figuring you're willing to pay it.  Contact her to schedule an appointment, confirm the donation amount and she'll let you know if there's a travel charge or not.
