First, what exactly does "NEW" mean on the provider profiles? I assume it means that the review was entered recently, but how recently? A week? Two? Just curious.
The second question is related. When I view my favorites list, it seems to be ranked with the most recently reviewed first. So, when a provider pops to the top of the list, I think to myself "Hey, she has a new review! I'll go check it out!" Sometimes, when I go to the profile, I've already read the first review. At this point I figure someone either modified a review, or entered a new review for a previous month. My question is can you tell which is the new or modified review? I waste too much time skimming old reviews looking for it. Okay, maybe it's not that much time, but a minute saved is a minute earned! Hmm, doesn't quite work, but you get my meaning.
The "NEW" is referring to the provider, or the reviewer. Not the review. All reviews get approved before they get posted, so it depends on how long it takes to get approved.
I have found providers listed in my favorites to have new reviews that I swear I have already read. I'm not sure if reviews can be edited or not. Maybe that's how that happens? Usually they do move to the top if she has a new review posted.
If you are looking at the reviews listed under the "new reviews" tab, the date is located on top of the page letting you know how old the newest reviews are.
As far as I can tell, a review is highlighted as "new" for about 2 to 4 weeks. The date of the review is when the date happened, not when the review was submitted.
If you get an e-mail saying the provider's profile has been updated, just look for reviews with a "new" next to them. Yes, you have to remember which "new" reviews you have read, and which you have not.
TER has a policy of no review more than 3 months old. Thus, you don not have to look too far back for a potential new review. And, yes a new review can show up earlier in the list that an old review. For instance, let's say a May review is no longer listed as New (date and review happened early May). It is possible that a report from March is finally submitted and approved. It would then show as New, but occurr earlier in the list before the old April and May reviews.
