Question about getting screened, sort of unique circumstance

Hello gentlemen and ladies,

I am in need of a little advice on getting screened, I have a few small problems that all add up into what is potentially a large problem.

First, I am disabled, so I do not have a work number that I can give.

Secondly, I live in a very rural area that has no cell service.

To compound the second problem I do not drive, so I have no way (on my own) to get in cell service so that I can be verified by say P411, to make things easier with a provider.

I am planning on moving to an area with better public transport, and have a trip planned to check out living arrangements in September.  I would love to be able to schedule my first visit with a provider to take place on that trip (I'm moving to Vegas btw) I just am at a loss of how to accomplish that ahead of time.

Since my disability I've had to stay with my parents because of the lack of options here for people with disabilities, (another reason I want to move to a place where I can be independent again) and it really isn't a good idea for me to have a provider or a verification service call the house.

Sooooo, should I just wait till I am there on the trip? I don't have any frame of reference on how long it would take a service like p411 to check me out.  Or am I stuck just waiting till I actually move around February of next year?

Thanks for any help guys and gals!

Oh, just to let you know I've been researching the hobby for quite a while and have a couple of providers chosen.  I've also read everything I can find on etiquette and safety (on this site and others) so hopefully everything will go more smoothly.  And I just signed up for VIP here so that I could read more detailed reviews.  Any advice that you can give would still be greatly appreciated, just wanted to let you know that I am doing my best to be smart about this.

to go see some guy in the middle of nowhere where there is no phone service, and she can't even verify him. In fact, there is a couple going around scamming girls pretending that they are disabled. It is an ROB when you arrive, and you are lucky to get out alive!

I have to agree with London.  If there is no way for her to verify you, she would be taking a huge risk in agreeing to see you.  It sucks, but it's probably true.  That would be like you seeing a provider with no reviews or references, it just ain't a good idea.

I assume you have read the self help center on this site from what you said, that's good.  Best of luck on your more, just relax and take your time, you will have a better experience.

You might be able to open a conversation with a screen ing service &/or a reasonable number of well reviewed providers in the weeks prior to your trip.  That should be enough time for screening.  You situation is not unlike those who only hobby n vacations or business trips.

The thing is that most gals don't want a pen-pal.  Keeping in touch takes a huge amount of time...  and time is money...   so contacting excessively in advance is wasting their time & you do not want that lable.

You should set up a hobby email to keep this private & plan on a hobby phone one you are ready to begin.

Thanks for all of the replies guys. I was figuring that was the what I should do but just wanted to see if there was a chance I could try on my trip.  That is no problem for me, just figured I'd get more info :)

I can totally understand how providers need to be safe and careful, sad the US is so backwards in regards to sexual freedom, but what can you do?

Again thanks for the help!

You would be surprised at the number of disabled clients who have a third party doing the dirty work for them. A woman alone in a room with a complete stranger is still pretty helpless, regardless of his situation...ESPECIALLY in an area off the beaten path, with no cell towers.

Right, but I was referring to the fact that due to legality, the providers are unable to have the protection they deserve. ie since they must work as discreetly as they can, and a report of violence or any other crime against them is more likely to not be taken seriously or even worse cause more unwanted harassment due to her profession.

And I am in no way saying a provider shouldn't take precautions, they very much should.

BUT I am also not saying I want a provider to come to where I live now lol, I think the closest one to me would be more than 2 hours drive one way :)  I was speaking of when I make my trip to Vegas to look for an apartment later this year, I will be there for 5-6 days in September, and just asking for possible advice that might help me get established so I could see someone at that time, but I figured i'd need to wait till I moved there anyways, so no big deal.

Thanks again, Have a great day!

With a 5 day window you ought to be able to get a session with somebody newbie friendly.  I'd suggest contacting through TER a week to 10 days in advance to get screened.

The Las Vegas Regional board. Maybe a few newbie friendly providers will give you some advise and may start with your screening process.

Thanks Harbor and Unlucky, I will try the LV board about a month out from my scheduled trip (don't want to do it now as that is just too far in the future) and will see how things work out.
