i'm going to be travelling to SD in july for the comic con, found some contact points here and sent out some emails.  is there anything extra, in terms of etiquette, when my guest arrives at my room

I suppose it wouldn't hurt to offer a snapple or anything else in a sealed container.

Most providers are leery of drinking anything that was not sealed unless they know the person well, for reasons that should be obvious.

Ashley (girl from the link) is a great girl, and this is sick, but one of the things that providers deal with.  It's also something to remember when you're being asked for personal info.
