If I'm interested in seeing an escort while I'm out of town, how does one handle the cash issue?  I would think having $5-600 going through the X-Ray machine at the airport might raise some eyebrows.  Is this really a problem, and if so, what's the best way to handle it?

What are some of the other gotchas to worry about, assuming that one is going to see an established, reputable provider on an outcall date?

I think you would have to be carrying 10X that amount to raise eyebrows. Don't worry about $500-$600.

Thirsty's right.  $5 to $6K is absolutely no problem.  (Even internationally, up to $10K is supposed to be OK, just stupid.)

Get a large wallet and fold wads of $100 bills into some of the compartments that items like cards are kept in. Take your credit cards and ATM card. Screeners may see the bills but you will have to be unlucky or fit a profile to get singled out for having them. If you are well dressed and civilized in appearance they will allow you to walk through after performing the xray.
Check with you bank to find out the daily limit for withdrawals, some banks have policiee that allow you to withdraw large amounts if your account is large.
I have come through airports with as much as $4,000 in my wallet and often use my ATM card to withdraw large amounts once I land in my destination cities. If you have an So you need to be prepared to explain the withdrawals if she has access to your account information.

Established providers have numerous avenues to accept payment without raising eyebrows and red flags. ~Cash is not always the only option... and there are several ways to transfer funds without having a specific identity established provided it is under 10K. How are they gonna know how much money you have in your pocket?  I think you are worrying too much about nothing.

on any flight with the exception of a refugee airlift.  By the way, money amounts can be read on a person due to the little metallic strips running on one side of the bill.  There is no law stating how much you can carry and certainly the odds are 1:1000000 that you would be followed to check out your later activities.  RELAX.

Unless you're flying internationally you can have as much cash on you as you like. I have personally been searched at McCarron airport in Las Vegas with in excess of $50K cash with out so much as a raised eyebrow. To repeat the words of others, don't sweat it.

Nah, no one at the airport is going to care, and they don't have the right to care, anyway.  It's none of their business why you're carrying cash, and you don't owe any kind of explanation to the TSA gestapo.

I've travelled with close to $2K in cash for hobby-related expenses, and never once had a problem.
