My recommendation is pass. Not a good idea to raise the level of you exposure to risk and add to possible additional charges.

for questions like this, or any other questions concerning hobby slang, acronyms etc.

stands for weed.. its the number because april 20th, 420, use to be national weed day..least here in ny anyway..

hummm and I dont even partake...

People celebraate 4/20 because of the term, not the other way around. How 420 came to mean what it does isn't clear.

There are several theories about the origin of 420.  One is it was a code used by police to call in a report of marijuana use.  Another is that a group of high-school kids in Cal. in about 1970 used to  meet at 4:20 pm to get high.  The connection to April 20 came later.

this relates directly to how much weed usually costs at a basic, meaning just mid grow, level. One nickel bag is 5 bucks you can get four (4) of them for twenty bucks (20) at least back in the old days. Everyone has discounts now, 6 for 20, 3 for 10 etc.

Or so I heard...

I really like Arriana Huffington and am happy for her success. She's a truth-teller.  On the other hand, she was married to a gay guy for years and apparantly didn't know it, so her accuracy on cultural issues like 420 is a little suspect.  Glad she's out there, though.

It refers to an additional charge beyond solicitation that could land you in jail instead of just a fine and slap on the wrist. Its the first and biggest flag to run, don't walk away.

The explanation I got was from my time managing a ski and snowboard shop; as you may know, some of the clientele of these establishments have been know to indulge in the weed from time to time.

As it was explained to me by my younger employees, as the lifts generally stop running at 4:00 PM, the last run of the day down the mountain would be celebrated at the end by lighting up. As it generally took 20 minutes to make a run, you'd be enjoying your end-of-the-day toke at 4:20.

As Wavy Gravy said in the article, it's probably lost in the mists of time...or smoke ;)

Love Mr. Gravy!  Long may he wave!
