the Red Sox win another two dozen World  Series.  Then we'll talk.  But they'll still be one short of the Yankees total of 27, even if NY doesn't win another WS in the meantime.

It was because of Kurt Schilling!!

Giorgio.....running back to Boston now to avoid the shelling!

... yes, and the Bruins won the Stanley Cup.  My fave team did not make the finals, but it was interesting to see how Boston became champions.

Are we not supposed to meet on the 'Sports Board', however?  (Sorry, Mr. beatpoet... I could not resist!)

Because he's a Republican!  Looking back at '04, I have none of the sour grapes that plagued Red Sox fans because of their losses to us in 1949, 1978, 1999, 2000, or 2003.  What goes around comes around.  The Bosox had no chance against us in '99 or '00...we were on a three-peat roll!  As for '78, I remember leaving the Ratskeller after the 6th inning, and hearing about the Bucky Dent homer from a dude driving by, honking his horn.  2003...beating Pedro that year kept the curse alive for one final chapter.  As 'for 49. those were before my time, but the Yanks won by beating the Sux the two final games at the Stadium in a series where the Sux only had to win one game.  The Yanks won both games, and went to five-peat as a result.  Joe D. went out in style, the Mick emerged as a clutch performer, as did Whitey, Billy, Yogi , Scooter, Mize, Coleman, Allie Reynolds, Vic Racshi,. etc.

Will the Red Sox beat us in 2011?  So far, they've had their way with us.  They did in 2009 as well at this point, but...better to win int second half of the season!  We historically beat the Sox in the second half, when it really counts...

But never mind.  And don't forget how the Mets broke the Sux hearts in '86!
I used to like Boston (half my family is from there) and always felt it was a great franchise that, if the Yanks couldn't win it I'd like to see break the curse.  But during the Pedro/Manny years the Sux became obnoxious, especially their fans.  Now I wish them nothing but defeat.  I root for two teams: the Yankees and whoever's beating the Sux.
