An ATF of mine just moved from Boston to NYC.  I can't support her myself, so I'd like to recommend her here.  She is reviewed and has the TER logo on her web site.  

I know if she posts I can reply saying how great she is, but other than that, is there an allowed way for me to post a "Check her out" message?

I won't include her link or reviews in this message, because that would be shilling.

the best way to support your ATF(s) is to reply to their schedule/ad posts. When you reply to her post, you can say just about anything. You can also reply to ISO posts from others as long as the reply is appropriate. For instance, if the poster is looking for a blonde BBW, you can't recommend your ATF if she is a petite brunette.

What you can't do is submit creative posts in an effort to keep her name at the top of the board...what I have come to call "I love you Elizabeth!" posts.

When you see a provider for the first time, you can post a mini-review. Leave out the juicy details, rate, schedule and contact information.

Be creative but recognize that I do pay attention. If she has a birthday once a week, I'll probably notice.

Every indy/agency is allowed one schedule/ad post per week. Some providers/agencies are more popular with the more active posters. While your idea is nice in theory, if we allowed everything to go through it would reduce the quality of information exchanged on these boards. I'm not accusing anyone here but it is reasonable to assume that, if hobbyists were allowed to submit shill/ad posts, providers may compensate them to do so.

I try to maintain a level playing field. I think it's best for everybody.

According to the New Heritage Dictionary, A shill is:

One who poses as a satisfied customer or an enthusiastic gambler to dupe bystanders into participating in a swindle.

According to Online Etymology:  shill  
1916, "one who acts as a decoy for a gambler, auctioneer, etc." (probably originally circus or carnival argot), probably a shortened form of shillaber (1913) with the same meaning, origin unknown. The verb is attested from 1914.

According to the Poker (nice play on words) Dictionary:

"SHILL: (n). A player who gets paid by a poker room to play for the house. The difference between a shill and a prop is that a shill cannot keep his winnings but a prop can."


Thus, if you are actually a satisfied customer and you give an enthusiastic recommendation and it is for real, you are not a shill.  In this sport or hobby, I have come to understand the term to mean or include even a satisfied customer that plugs on behalf of a provider in exchange to discounts or freebies. While not totally dishonest it certainly has ethical implications.

LOL.  I did get a few e-mail messages asking about the girl, but honestly, it was not my intention to circumvent the system.  Only to find out the proper way to act.
