my guesses to the retirement announcement:
is she making this grand announcement to ramp up interest in her and generate a quick buck knowing a quick return was imminent
or
was there something actually driving her out of the industry that didn't pan out
or
was her return simply out of necessity
this inquiring minds is interested in provider and hobbyist feedback
Some of the ladies are quite savvy marketers. Give them credit. The ones who try to gin up their traffic before heading for the hills for a while are just trying to make a buck. It's when they come back that I feel sooooo sad for them.

There is a store on my corner that has been having a "going out of business" sale for about 4 years now. Some people might announce their retirement as a way to boost interest. "See me while you can..." I suspect this is the case with those who "retire" and come back more than twice.
Some are trying to get out of the business, and then discover that whatever alternate career plan isn't working out, so they come back to earn a living.
Some get into relationships with someone who doesn't want them working, or they don't want to work while in the relationship. They retire in the belief that this is "the one." And if that relationship doesn't work out, then they come back.
I am sure there are many other reasons as well, but I suspect these are the most common.

I'm 100% certain that they legitamely do intend on retiring, but then when the reality kicks in and they realise that they have actually nothing to offer the real world to keep up the $1000 an hour lifestyle, and the only job they qualify for is $10/hour at the local wallmart then its pretty dam obvious! Its easy money, as long as the losers think pussy is worth that much! Personally i call these dudes desperate and manipulated, and the ladies laughing all the way to the bank!
