They don't seem clear which are provider ads versus which are mere hook-up opportunities. (Unless one of the agencies is skimming all the cream-skimmers?). Not that a hook-up is bad, but I always remember . . . Charlie Sheen said it, you're paying them to LEAVE !
I've had mixed experiences replying to ads. But very good experiences posting my own: what I want, what I look like, what I'll pay. I think there are some interesting non-pros lurking there for something to peak their interest.
I've had a pretty good experience in general dealing with Craig's List, but I should warn you: I've also gotten some weird and even disturbing responses to ads, too. A certain amount of respondents basically ignorned what I was asking for. And I think at least one was a TS, if I'm any judge of photos. But I've also received anonymous threats and non sequitur responses which have freaked me out a little. Use caution.
