What is going on with these e-mails stating that "If you come to NYC to work you wll leave with 2 broken legs"???????
Initially I read about it and next thing I know I get one, then my friend a provider from here (mostly they seemed to be going to providers from the other site) tells me she got the exact same e-mail. Reguarding stay out of NYC or your legs will be broken from a ****** as we all or most of us seem to be getting them from. Sorry but once you threaten me or physically hurt me or rob me you loose the right to keep your name out of my mouth and off the board, if staff feels differently then please delete the name.
I'm sure I'm not the only one this is happening too. Anyone (TER providers) also getting these e-mails ?

and, second to one of the girls who also received it, it was made from an internet cafe. Whoever sent the mails did in a rampage, targeting girls who does incalls in the Midtown area. If it was a direct and personal attack, like the ones I got when I started to go to LI last year, I would be worried. But, this was sent to few  providers with the same warning of "breaking your legs". Maybe is an orthopedic surgeon with a twisted fetish? I would say just ignore and be careful with your bookings or disclosing your exact incall location. Be safe :)

Some of the messages from providers contained the name and email of the person allegedly making the threats.  Since we don't know if this is in fact the person making the threats, I decided it would be best not to publish it. It's always possible that someone hijacked that person's email.

I totally understand and respect your decision. The thought did come to my mind after the fact . I quess thats why your the mod/staff and I'm not!

I got this same message as well and posted it on the other board with the headers.  It was traced and I reported it to Yahoo and their server and the police (don't you hate it when some girl is jealous that you're dating their ex-boyfriend?)    Yahoo said that they had taken appropriate action and the server said that they were looking into it.   Of course, the police are quite interested in threats as well and will action.  Apparently this provider doesn't realize that LE can even tell the exact location from which an e-mail emanates, whether they use a different ISP or not.

Of course an email can always be traced back to its originating IP. (Well, barring advanced IP spoofing techniques used by spammers, but let's assume (s)he is not that sophisticated.) It doesn't even require LE powers to do it!

The problem is attaching an individual to the IP address, assuming (s)he was sophisticated enough to use someplace anonymous such as an internet cafe or public library.

This person who is sending this stuff to us the agencies and the indies that work in NYC better get a fu~*king life.
First of all, I don't think it is person outside of the industry, I think it is a high priced agency or provider who used to do well before the visiting girls used to come in and started charging decent prices 300 to 400 range.Everyone should do business as usual and don't be intimidated by this loser who has nothing better to do than email people and TRY to scare them off.Well it's not going to work, I don't get scared too easily.

You see if they were to change their rates to a more reasonable price maybe they wouldn't be too concerned about everyone else who is doing the right thing.

High priced agencies just cater to a different clientele. This person should not think they are going to get the volume of calls that girls are getting at the most competitive rates. It is 2 different ends of the spectrum. If they get a couple of calls a day , that is expected but they are jealous of the amount of calls that we all get and they should not be. I have a friend who wants me to go in a partners of a high end agency. I even told her " don't expect the same amount of calls or even the same clients. The clients who read the net and reviews know the value and they don't jump so easily at spending 600 and up an hour. I don't know but sometimes it's like buying a Louis Vitton, if someone sees that it is expensive they think it is worth it, but you only get a buyer who likes to feel like if it expensive, it must be worth it. But in this case you have a person who is charging very high rates but does not have the brains to realize that they can wait for the phone to ring or lower their rates, it's their choice. To go over the line is dangerous, you can't do that to people. I hope they trace this peron and they learn a lesson from this.

There are alot of clients in NYC, they should not be concerned about visitors if they were doing the right thing with their rates or just wait patiently for that phone to ring.

It's their choice.

your probably right. I too found it interesting that both indies and agencies are recieving these messages.

So I came to the same conclusion. That or someone is going to be sending girls here touring and they want the local comp to be intimidated as well as the traveling indies to stay away as well as change our tactics making it harder to deal with us because of leariness.

I wouldn't be surprised if some agency had a group of girls touring nyc very soon. This is of course MY conspiracy theory. I also suspect that the person that sent them if they are a provider also said they got one to throw a red herring. Too much time on my hands lol Got to stop watching those old classic b&w movies.

Anyone else think it interesting that these threats are coming right before the Republican Convention?  To jump on to Samantha's conspiracy thoughts - could this have any connection with the religious right wanting to clean up NYC for "their man's" visit?  Or could it be some high priced agency - as mentioned - thinks they can make a mint with the flood of conventioneers and doesn't want less expensive talent to spoil their fun?  Just thoughts.
