My friends,

I just got home from a terrible thanksgiving trip home to upstate NY. I had to take my mother to the hospital and live through 72 of sleepless hours of emergency room foolishness, massive intestinal surgery and intensive care. She is not out of the woods yet and will take months to recover.

I'm gonna feed my cats, crash, and head north again later in the week, and I can not imagine having the time (or connectivity) to continue my various moderator roles.

Its been wonderful experience, thank you all for your friendship, great ideas, creative(often hysterical)posts. I will return!!

That's a tough way to spend Thanksgiving but from what I'm reading, you were there for her when she needed you the most.

Sometimes we have to take a pause from doing the things that we like to do to tend to more obligatory matters.

Take deep breaths, be sure and keep a level head on your shoulders and try an occasional "out of body experience" to survey the big picture. (LOL)

Life would be boring without its many challenges and obstacles. You just have to remember that you are up for the challenges and have nimble feat to dance around the obstacles.

I'm very sorry to hear that your mother is ill, and I wish her a speedy recovery.  You have been an outstanding moderator and an invaluble help around here, and, should you ever decide you would like to come back and moderate again, you are always welcome.
