All of the businessmen who will be your potential clients will be out of town on the obligatory family vacation. The only people here this weekend are those without means to do otherwise.

I am a Connecticut provider who is needing an escape from the daily routine of my life out here. Luckily, this 3 day weekend will give me the opportunity to do so. I am meeting up with Jasmine Sweetness from DC. We will be having  little vacation out here and are looking forward to it.

What is the probability that things will be slow because people are out of town?

Most providers will find that it is a very slow weekend, as people are with their families.  NYC hobbyists are largely locals or business travelers.  Leisure travelers with their wives, GFs or SOs are not going to be looking to find providers.

Bottom line for the OP?  Plan on doing a lot of stuff in the city and enjoying yourself, but don't expect this to translate into lots of bookings.  It's a bad weekend for that.

In my own experience, working during holidays can go either way.
Is true, many New Yorkers are out of town, busy with the 'back to school' stuff or having family gatherings.
But, there is a big chunk of the New York population who are single and not traveling anywhere...they usually hobby on their days off from work (or school).

Unless I book in advance, I almost never see someone on the weekends; I find that many providers want some time off also.

I find that holiday weekends could be hit or miss/slow or busy as well. The thing is that a lot of times holiday weekend bookings will be very last minute- and for short periods of time. I don't offer an hour long session, but my girlfriends who do tend to keep personal plans very tentative to be able to accommodate any last minute requests.

I agree with a previous post. Come on over, enjoy the city and all it has to offer. If you happen to get a booking, look at it as a cherry on the pie!
