Need advice for a great hotel for romantic over-nighter.

Looking for one soak tub for two.
Under $500/ night.
Thx

Just looking at the app "Hotel Tonight" and filtering for their "higher end" availability for tonight

New York Plaza - $212
Bryant Park Hotel - $289
Duane St. Hotel - $229

Priceline, filtering for 4 star and up, has over 20 entries at sub $400.

it's clearly not in either area the OP is asking about.  WC is also right that there are a huge number of NY hotels available for much less than $500 per night.  How do you think providers could afford to pay those rates and still make a buck?  The OP should just go on Kayak and do a search.

Agreed. While you spend a seemingly limitless amount of money, there is plenty at, and a bit under, the $500 mark.

If you've ever stayed at The Standard (I have) it's not what the OP is looking for.  The whole vibe there is Euro, spare, and glass walls so you can fuck while being watched by people walking on the Hi-Line.

The OP asked for hotels in a specific area and you recommended one not in either area.  And you made a statement about $500 hotel rooms proving you have no idea what they actually cost.  Thus, you are 0 for 2.
Hint: when you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.
And, no, I didn't fuck in front of the glass wall of my room either.  Didn't say I did, simply that the hotel became infamous for people doing that. You must enjoy being wrong and clueless.  Keep up your fine work.
PS: Your earlier comment also demonstrates your lack of simple reading comprehension:
"As far as I'm concerned, this isn't about a gal looking to book, it's about a client looking to book for the two of them. That's how I took it. Correct me if I'm wrong. If he's footing the bill for the room, it has nothing to do with her donation."
I think everyone but you understood my original comment to mean that your $500 price point for hotels in NY was also wrong because, were it true, providers wouldn't be able to afford to book here. Obviously I knew it wasn't "about a gal looking to book:  Geesh!

Sucks to get wrong and have it pointed out, I guess.  Hard to imagine why you have a need to perpetuate your embarrassment.
