George Bush brushed off any comparisons of the war in Iraq to the war in Vietnam. The General running the Iraq war said he needs up to 10,000 more troops and Bush said he will authorize their deployment. I don't know how many of you were alive back during the Vietnam war, but we heard the same thing from Gen. Westmoreland who was lying constantly about the strength of the North Vietnamese army and the Viet Cong.
Do you remember nearly a year ago when Gerorge W. stood proudly on the aircraft carrier and said the "major portion of the conflict was over." Really?? By the way, the reason he did not say the war was over at that time is because in saying that, it would require him to release all pows.

This post does belong on the TER board because if George W. is re-elected, it will have a significant impact on hobbysits and providers; and all women in general. You can say goodbye to the availability of safe and legal abortions, and you can expect a major crackdown on any illegal activity that involves sex. The religous right has George W. in their pocket. If you don't think that his reelection won't provide him and his right wing religous core base to impose all sorts of restrictions on the freedom of expression (including sexual) you are deludidng yourselves. His re-election will have a ripple effect that will profoundly affect this hobby / business. Just the tip of the iceberg in this current term: no Federal Aid to public schools that mention condom use in their health education classes; they must teach abstinence as the only means of avoiding STDs if they want any Federal funding. Wait 'til you see what he will want to do when he no longer has to worry about being re-elected in 4 years. Remember, his Attorney General, John Ashcroft, spent $15,000 on drapes to cover the bare breasts on a statue that has been standing at the Dept. of Justice for well over a hundred years. He was offended by it. You don't think they are going to try to shut down sites like TER? Or Eros? Or City Vibe? Don't underestimate the fanaticism and power of the religous right once Bush stacks the Supreme Court with right wing extremists.
