In abit of a pickle while visiting.
I'm thankful on this day to have the support of my family and friends here in NYC.
I'm looking for the support of a good lawyer as well now to help me get out of a bit of a pickle.
Nothing too serious or related to the hobby (thank god!)
I'm happy to compensate for the time spent helping my case.
I'll take anything from advice to representation!

Fine and license suspended ...however and I don't want to know priors do play in , also you shouldn't take this lightly you could get killed or kill someone else .....you said north of the city don't want the location but find a lawyer who lives in that courthouse , hire him/her , local attorney...and do what they say . You will be okay but , GROW THE FUCK UP !

It's perfectly legal to smoke marijuana in many places due to medical reasons unfortunately that's not here. Judge me or don't I don't really care. I wasn't driving and smoking and I don't have a record. Believe it or not I'm a criminal. I'm one of the nicest people you've never met luv.

The law is the law , and if you tell the judge what you just told me , he / she may get pissed ...get an attorney , and you'll be fine ......as far as fighting this , courts don't want to hear it nor will they entertain a trial .....court costs , soooooooo if you take my advice and find an attorney familiar with the court you will appear in you will do better ....

 

 
AND GROW UP , the judge will say that too !

I know what I can and can't say to a judge. I'm not saying that I wasn't in violation of the law. I most definitely was. But I was not impaired or smoking at the time or the day I was stopped charged for doing so.
And they found bits and crumbs in the center console not pounds stacked in my trunk lmao
I know I need a lawyer. I wouldn't walk in there without one.
I just thought that this may be a good place to find a local lawyer.
I am a big girl and I know when I'm wrong and I got screwed.
So now I'm trying to deal with it appropriately.

In the state of NY, if this is a first DWI offense, you will get a misdemeanor charge, license will be suspended and you will have to pay a big chunk of money - 5 to 10 grand in lawyer fees plus court charges, surcharge fees (or you will not get your license back).

If you had any prior DWI or DUI charges within the past 10 years, then is a felony and you can go to jail for it.

If you had an illegal substance with you at the time of the arrest or even was smoking it, well, then it might get you additional criminal charges.

Hire & pay for a lawyer - you are better off - get the proper representation instead of asking here for free advice.

Don't even think going to court and do yourself because you definitely need a legal representation.

Is not the end of the world but is a pain in the ass and....costly!

Lawyer specialized in DWI = 5,000 + Surcharge = 1,000 + Court fines = 750.00 + attend mandatory classes + 300.00. Adding all up = almost 8K.
And it was a first offense and no drugs involved.

In the State of NY, first DWI/DUI offense is a misdemeanor, second is a felony and you can go to jail. Read the laws! In NJ is a traffic violation, but NY did get tough on drink/driving.

She needs a lawyer! Period!
