Last night I went to sleep with such a warm fuzzy feeling in my tummy after hearing about our new President. I had such yummy chocolate covered dreams of this amazing hero through the night, and woke up with another big smile this morning!

DAVBERTS... I could have sworn I read a post where you said you were leaving the hobby if Obama was elected. Why are you still here? A broken promise? No surprise.
And, you're right. Anything can happen between now and January 20, when President elect Obama will be sworn in. Anything can happen... even to you. You should keep that in mind, too.
I would stop playing the field with women who are part of the hobby community. I did not say that I would stop making comments on these message boards. So I am not a flip flopper and so I haven't broken any promises.
Sure anything can happen to me from now until the 20th of January but I protect myself with glock pistol. You know the same weapon that NYC police use on duty and who shoot criminals with. The same police who are cleared of all wrong doing after a shooting by a review board. You have to love those review boards for being so one-sided.
First, why would you be on the review board if you're out of the hobby? Maybe the review board is your hobby.
Second, don't try to pretend you're on the job. Even the NYPD wouldn't be stupid enough to make veiled threats about the president's welfare and then brag about being cleared for shootings. And, judging from the number of reviews I'm pretty sure you don't work for an armored car service. So, don't further embarrass yourself on the board!
Third, I'm not too sure why we're talking about weapons here but if you're knowledgeable about protection I'm sure you understand the merits of proper planning. And I can assure you that the secret service has planned properly for the president elect safety. More so than the average citizen. So, I'm very confident that the President elect will be taking the oath on January 20th, and continue with his duties for at least the next four years.
Hey, good luck with your retirement. I guess we'll never see 67 from you. Too bad. I'll try to drop a few on here soon so you can live vicariously in the hobby!

wanted to do something greater than working in construction or working out of a desk. Why then would you take so much offense about Obama having a happy ending just like the folks of Harlem and Philly experinece everyday. Afterall, anybody can read those stories on the police blogs on local newspapers.
When you calm down you too will know that the happy ending that I envision for the President Elect will indeed come true sooner than later if you get my meaning.

BTW thanks President elect Obama for making the American dow jones close at negative 486 points or 5 % lower than when it opened this morning.
Actually, the dow jones was up yesterday upon the prediction that Obama would be victorious. Today's drop had more to do with the European Markets and the slide in production in the US, not Obama's election. Pro Obama stocks went up yesterday while pro McCain stocks fell, so the market internalized the effects of the election the day before.
He's got a point, your 1st post CLEARLY leads one to believe that you think someone will assasinate, or by some similiar means, prevent Obama from taking office or "removing" him once he gets there.
Just to give you more fuel for the fire, cause I'm sure you'll come back at me. I voted Republican, I just turned 30, I am in the US military having served 1 tour overseas in Iraq and was injured training for my 2nd. I have nothing personal against Obama and wish him the best. I simply just did not agree with enough of his policies or think they would work or were the best options. I can get along with Dem's just fine, ask my father's side of the family. Both my father & stepmom are strongly pro-Obama and voted for him, while I was strongly pro-McCain. However regardless of WHO they voted for I'm glad that they at least DID vote. As long as you chose the person YOU felt would be the best for this country so be it.
P.S. You don't get presidential powers the day after the election. President ELECT Obama doesn't have any more power than he did a week ago. Bush is still president so blame him for your 486 pts.
but on Election day the dow jones went up over 300 points. I guess companies buying in American stock thought McCain was going to win but woke up Wednesday morning to the news of Obama. Hence, Obama being named as President Elect caused more anxiety than relief to deciding to buy or sell. Hence there was more selling than buying today.
And what's you're explanation for all of October's swings?

I voted for McCain as a Republican and person who disagrees on selective taxation and quick pull out from Iraq. However, the country and people have spoken and Obama is the man, which I respect. You have to give him his due, he ran a very efficient campaign with a very focused and cohesive team that did not wavier. He ran a relatively clean campaign w/o the mud slinging that McCain resorted to out of desparation--proof that sometimes nice guys can win.
Regarding possible "accidents" befalling Obama, if he were to be hit with violence it would make this country the biggest hypocrites in modern time (we talk tolerance but gun down someone out of fear of change). It would make us look even more of a legitatmate target since we are evil enough to gun down our own president-elect because of skin color or idealology. It would probably cause more division bet Blacks and Whites as the prophecy of never electing a Black president will have been borne true.
No good can come of talk of violence to Obama. We lost the election because of our own in-fighting and lack of touch with the people. We expected the "old-boy" system to work again without realizing many have died off from old age in the last 4 years. We were defeated and we deserved it. McCain's handlers should be drawn and quartered for their handling of the campaign--and now they are bickering over Palin in public, come on, give me a break.
Obama earned his victory fairly and honorably, let fate have a chance here.
