Being that it's around the corner and only this year will it coincide with Thanksgiving, how about we throw a real Chanukah party complete with Dreidel, "Kurten" and of course, good 'ole latkes!!!
We can gather around and share war stories and maybe some girls will be willing to play strip '21'....

Thanksgivikah! I love it. Yeah the next time this is going to happen is in some 17,000 and change years (yeah, someone actually did the math for that....I love rabbis)

But to the original topic, something like that could be fun. If only I didn't have to work on thanksgiving day.

I get to be the Rabbi.  And Molly Feinstein plays my wife.

Kate;
I assume you meant Menorah - but you can light my Chanukah anytime of the year....

The correct term for the candelabrum that is used in celebrating Chanukkah is Chanukiah. It has eight branches, one for each day of the holiday and a ninth candle for lighting the others. Menorah is the vessel that stood in the holy temple and has seven branches, as described in great detail in the Bible.
How special it is that this year Thanksgiving and the first day of Hanukkah coincide - two days that emphasize how right and important it is to be grateful!

Hi there!

I did specifically mean Chanukiah (or Hanukiah, if you like) as it's a specific type of menorah used just for this holiday...

But having said that, it IS still a Menorah, and that I COULD light any time of year! :) :)

Kiss me,

Kate

KSM46, BIB- thanks for clearing that up! Sorry for reiterating what they said,  I hadn't read through the whole thread before responding to you...

I am a good little jewish girl/woman! :) Maybe I should rebrand myself as Rahab. LOL.

Kiss me,

Kate
