When you post an ad, please include a picture in the body of the post itself, not just a link to your reviews or web site.  I'm lazy.  I admit it.  But there are so many ads posted that when I open one and there's no picture right there, I move on almost all the time.  So, please, help out lazy guys like me and include a photo!

Have you also considered that they may not know how to copy an image link and paste to the picture URL box.
I actually taught two ladies, so it might be as simple as learning how to do it.

You are right.  It's so easy to do.
1) Right click on the photo you want to post.
2) A window comes up which includes a choice called "Properties." Click on it
3) A screen will come up and, on it, will be information starting with "http" or "https." Drag the cursor across this info until it's highlighted in blue. Then right click on it and select "copy" from the choices.
Close the screen.
4) Open a window to create your ad and find the box beneath the message titled "Picture URL."  Erase the letters "http" from it and paste the info you had copied into it.  If the info starts with "https," remove the "s."
You are done.  Just write the ad copy and post it.
Lazy mongers of TER will thank you.  And you will get more business.

I like to be in absolute control of my website, my pictures, text, contact information and ads. As of right now, I could bring everything down in a matter of minutes. I regularly search the web and make sure that there isn't anything out there posted without my permission. I do this for my own safety and reputation.

As far as I know, every single ad on TER will remain on the website, for all to see, even after a provider is delisted. Perhaps TER will work on this and remove the ads as well, not just the profile. The less information, the better.

We built our informative websites for you to visit them and learn a little bit about us. Don't be lazy. We also move on almost all the time when a gentleman asks us something really basic that is clearly posted on our website.

And I completely respect your reason for not putting up a picture.  Some girls will agree with you.  My post is for the ones who might want to change or don't know how to post a picture like that.

I'm not sure but ... you aren't actually posting the picture or image file to TER.  You are pasting in a LINK to picture that must be stored on any accessible server (your own website; photobucket.com).  If it is your server (website) and you remove the picture, the link won't be able to find it and there will be some kind of TER error message ("Cannot find object").  The link is only good for as long as you provide the target file for that link.

TER does not want to become a picture repository (too much file space) and you don't want to lose control of your pictures.  Oh ... people can "steal" an image directly from your website, so providing a link only doesn't change that.

I'm going to try to attach an image from a public server by pasting the URL into the "picture URL" box and see if it works.

In the previous post, I tried to attach a link to a public domain JPG file but the mods deleted it (the link), so no picture.  It was innocuous but maybe the link had to much info to risk annoying someone.  (photobucket ... Mary'sPictures ... Tree.jpg)

Can someone confirm and explain this better than I can?  When you paste in a "picture URL" in the box at the bottom of the post or reply page, you are not uploading the picture itself.  When someone reads your post, it "activates" the link that searches for the target file and temporarily displays the picture embedded in the post.

You maintain control of the pic on your website or photobucket or wherever the original JPG file is stored.  You can delete that file or move it to another page or change the name and it will no longer be displayed in the TER message - post.

How am I doing?

You still might not want to post pics in your TER ads or comments, but you don't have to worry about TER holding onto the files ... they never really have the files, just the links to the files.

If you read it carefully, you'll see that I never said all I look at are the pictures.  That is only the starting point.  But before I go further I need to know if the visual chemistry is there.  And there are so many ads out there I need to know that right away and not have to click through into your web site to find it.  If the visual chemistry is right, I will happily continue through a very full screening process including your site, how you write about yourself, your rates, your ads and your listings on P411 or Date-Check.  I'll also read your reviews and back-channel with reviewers about you.  Believe me, my screening is just as thorough as I hope yours is.
As for having a "boring, grey personality," LOL!  Believe me, I've never been accused of that!  Women like me because I love them, respect them, treat them very well in every way and also make them laugh a lot --with me, not at me.  
PS: They also like me because I have a HUGE...........wallet!

Thank You very much for taking the time to give us girls a heads up  It's good to know the way a hobbyist's mind works as he is sifting through the plethora of provider ads here in NYC.  I am visiting Midtown East (from southern California) and only booked one date my whole time here!  Thank goodness it was a multi-hour date.  Next time I'll definitely be more thoughtful & detailed when posting ads.

This is true. We have many options to host our images on the Web (ImageCoast, Photobucket... ) and we are not uploading any photos on TER.

Don't we all host an entire photo gallery on our websites? We posted them there for your viewing pleasure and you are invited to browse through and zoom in. This thread did not make me change my mind, even though men are extremely visual beings and women are more verbal.
