While it is clearly not the most important point, did anyone else think it was odd that the police/news released the victim's name even though the news item also says that the police had not yet been able to notify her family?  Not sure that the victim's name should be released in this type of crime at all, but it seems particularly bad if it is being released while there is still a chance that her family are not yet aware of what has happened and there is a chance that they could be told directly.

People can be such monsters sometimes!
