san fransisco and nyc are the two most expensive places to live in the USA. so what you paid there, you pay here. cheap?,,harlem, lower east side, like alphabet city.
Hey everyone, I have been thinking of moving to Nyc for awhile and would like some input on the city and of course where it wont cost me an arm and leg to live. I have been told NJ but would really like some input on the city as a whole. I was there once about 10 years ago and loved it. I am orginally from San Fran and have lived in Nashville for awhile now. I am just ready for a move.
If you don't want to spend much, you can live in Astoria or Woodside which is in Queens. There are other neighborhoods in Queens which could either be a 15 or 25 minute ride into manhattan, of course dependent on where you choose to live. There are also other places in Brooklyn to live in, Park Slope, Brooklyn Heights, etc.
It really depends on what you mean by "an arm and a leg". Give us a ballpark as to what you would want to spend for rent, and we'll tell you if it's doable, and where the best neighborhood is for that kind of dough.
