i love this hobby, but it's not worth losing my family.  i can't understand how anyone can continue going to these agencies.  about 18 months ago i visited jb's and the girl was great, however the idea of a raid was on my mind the whole time.  sure enough about three months after my visit they got raided too (end of 2003).  don't get me wrong i had a great time, but i much prefer getting a room and seeing a well reviewed indy.  there are plenty of seasoned hobbyist that are credible when posting a review.

Happy hunting but most of all be careful......remember family first, then pussy!!

think with the big head.....not the little one!!!

just my 2 cents....

Everybody is talking about how they are going to stick strickly to indies and how LE is only looking for headlines which is true but they are also looking for people who don't pay any taxes either. My opinion is, it's all about being smart with your money. If you notice the agencies that were busted were major agencies. Jason had expensive apartment's and Julie had several locations. Both had expensive habbits. They were not using good jugement on how they were spending their money. I own a very small agency and do very well money wise. BUT!!! I wouldn't go out and pay for a Lexus in cash or put myself in a big house when I have no way to prove where the money is comming from and that is some of the mistakes Julie and Jason made. Independent girls can slip up and do the same thing some agency owners do. Live high class without providing a source of income. It goes both ways. I think ruling out all agencies is a bit unfair.I think I speak for all small time agencies when I say we are smart. Most of us small time agency owners live in average apartments, drive middle class cars, and are always looking out for our safety because we don't use the extra money for anything special but to mainly pay our bills and have some type of security. I think the best solution and advice would be for an agency owner or indy is too run their buisness but hold a regular job as well to blend in there money. Sometimes when people get rich they become lazy. The number one thing in this buisness is to be discrete, blending in with the rest of society. I'm a bad speller lol so I apologize if their is anything misspelled. Just my 2cents....

Be safe!

Well said.

I, for one, never, ever will deal with an agency, and VERY rarely with a local provider, like twice in 5 years. There's just too much of a risk. I'm quite happy with the visiting out-of-towners.

This sucks.  For FS, I always stuck to independents because I was afraid LE would bust an agency, but I still went to agency's for massages with happy endings.  Now, suddenly, I am afraid to do even that.

Looks like it's independent city from now on.  Or at least until my little head gets the edge over my big one.

Well stated. I do not know how you guys could ever walk into a "house" without thinking about it being raided the entire time.
I can only imagine what goes through the mind of a hobbyiest when meeting even the well reviewed indy.
I know what is going thru mine.
"Please don't be LE" and "Damn am I ho**y, lets have fun"
Like you guys Little head...big head issues, lol!

These busts, combined with what happened in 2 sessions I had over one weekend shortly before christmas, have me shying away from any NY agencies.

In that weekend, I made an appointment with an LI/NYC agency that's de-listed on TER but reviewed and somewhat popular on other boards.  When I meet the girl at the hotel - at first it was at a nearby motel, but then they changed locations - she (whose looks are subpar and not what I expected at all from the blurred photos and reviews) immediately seems nervous and asks what I do for a living.  When I tell her what profession I'm in, after a little more chitchat she asks me again, then tells me that she's nervous b/c the girl who runs the agency (and who I talked to her earleir) suspected her phones were being tapped by LE.  She then asks again and again what I do for a living, then insinuates that I may be a cop.  When I reassure her I'm not, she then sarcastically comments about my profession, asks again if I'm a cop, at which point I'm really paranoid.  I apologize and tell her I have to leave, for both our sakes.  She's simultaneously relieved and disappointed, groaning and then saying, "Well at least I know you're not a cop."   Weird.

The following night, I book with an indie who by chance happenned to stay at the same motel that I was supposed to be in the night before.  This indy gave great service and was the friendliest and most down-to-earth provider I've seen yet (I've seen about 20 total).  During idle chit-chat between cups, I tell what happened the night before, we then talk about other agencies, and she tells me that she heard from connected sources that a well-known agency is being actively investigated by LE.  My bullshit meter doesn't go off, and as I brought up the agency first, I believe her (as much as you can believe any provider you've just met).  What scares me is that I've used this well-known agency in the past on numerous times.

These 2 experiences really concerned the shit out of me, and that was before all these busts.  Luckily, I never used any agency in which you have to give verifiable information, so I'm not worried about past experiences.  But no more NY agencies for me.  Anyone know if we should be equally concerned about NJ agencies?
