Hey guys, I am writing this note specifically to those providers who work in the midtown area. There is a program in effect which I am not sure how long it's been around, but it's called the Midtown Community Court Program. It monitors and arrests very minor criminal activity throughout the whole midtown area ( both east side and west side). The criminal activity is within the area of misdemeanors which include Prostitution, selling of small amounts of marajuana, loitering ect... Because it is only a small municipal court, procurring ( agency owners) would not be included. Where do we come in? Well, Law Enforcement are dispatching undercover cops who pose as clients. I have heard of instances where they proceed with services to accumulate enough evidence to come back and make an arrest. This doesn't have to be though. I have found out that the provider has not even begun to undress or even taken the fee from the undercover officer, when a knock comes at the door and 6-8 officers rush in to make their arrest. So, ladies, as you can see, although midtown is a great area to work for it's convenience, it is an area that has become top priority to clean up whether it be on the street or in the privacy of your home/hotel room. It has become quite apparent that NYPD has way too many cops and doesn't know what to do with them. As for screening, it doesn't seem to matter. The undercover who initially enters has photo ID, can provide a work number, cell number and anything else you may need. They are unconcerned with agency owners ( they fall into felonious charges. The court is not high enough to deal with them), therefore it is independents and workers for agencies they care about. They know their arrests are illegal because they are misleading ( ID, providing a so called work number ect..), and they are very easily thrown out. But, YOU WILL stay in jail overnight and most of the following day ( as long as you have no warrants or on parole) which in itself very degrading and the most disgusting place any person should ever want to be. If you know me, you know I don't talk shit. I am very angry about what is going on. NYC use to be one of the best places to work, but it has fallen into the same category as a small hick town with bumbling cops who have nothing to do. I am not trying to scare anyone, but you must take care. Up your screening, DO NOT use cell phones as a contact number, cross check work numbers with yellow page listings, don't let slow times make you slack in your screening. It may also be prudent to stop providing incalls in the midtown area. At least for awhile. Like I said, I don't know how long this has been going on, but it is very apparent, unlike Guiliani, Mr. Bloomberg is not only interested in street action, he wants what going on behind closed doors as well. Good luck and be careful.

Right you are, Kym.
I happen  to know from relatives who work for NYPD that
this site, along with A-report.com are prime sources of
info for LE.
They cruise the newspapers and Mall sites for who is out
there, but TER and A-report give them the advance confirmation of illegal activity they need for probable
cause!!!!! LE no longer passively waits for some neighbor
to complain about heavy foot traffic or other such nuisance
cause of action.
It's a similar strategy to the Westchester cops who troll
chat rooms enticing and entrapping pedophile wannabes.
So far, it stands up in court in this new fascist republic in which we find ourselves.
It's a conundrum that a site which helps hobbyists avoid
rip-offs by confirming anticipated activities can also serve
as a tip-off to LE.

Frankly, if I were a provider who was getting a lot of positive
reviews on TER (especially well-detailed ones), I would be
nervous and might limit myself to established clients for
a while. Sad but true.

I agree. Your point is well taken. It  always pays to be careful. Both for the sake of the Provider, as well as for the sake of the Hobbyst. Perhaps, if  we have too  many in LE  with  nothing better  to do, its time for layoffs.Furthermore, perhaps its time to release a  print/ad campaign about  our illustrious  Mr. Bloomberg,  who has admitted that he has   tried Cannabis (and Enjoyed it) but has also tried  Providers (And  Enjoyed it as well!.... although he didn't  Inhale )
Film at eleven---;)

I am getting back my sense of humour, slowly but surely. I think the biggest problem is the influx of PBA support. I have some cop calling me every other day begging me for money on my business line. It's alright, I'll pay the speeding ticket thanks... Because even with 911, NYPD and LAPD are still what they are. They aren't heroes. They did their jobs period. Nothing overly noble in that. Eventually, all the hoopla that has come along with 911 will die down, and these lazy guys will be back to hiding out in the doughnut shop or taking 1/2 an hour to respond to a shooting like they have done ( and still do) in the past.
Love Kym xoxoxox

The FDNY were heros on 9-11 not the NYPD. My neighbors a firefighter and his company lost 8 guys that day. He told my when one of the Fire Chiefs asked the ranking officer at the WTC for help in evacuating the buildings, the officer refused and said NYPDs job was just to direct traffic. Guess that's why the NYPD lost only 23 while the FDNY lost over 300.
