REFLECTION WEEK what is this clown stinkybungler, or whatever his name is doing over there...there is an excruciatingly tedious dissertation about thinking about remaining a member, reading the rules ....blah..blah..blah....yawn..yawn..yawn.
sounds more like a TIMR OUT for first grade....well ok having read, in the past, some posts over there maybe it is first grade.
But a week long time out for a message board....give me a break!!!

real bad. I didn't read what went on there, but a client of mine was telling me it was nasty. So, I guess Slinky got real mad and pulled the plug for a week. I read all 3 boards and I miss UG.

So he makes a well thought out mature dicision as a true professional to shut down for a week just cause someone pissed him off.
seems that on any given day at ug there are more slurs, insults, flames, bombs thrown etc. than in an entier year at TER. Looks like the clown running the show has completly lost control.
I think it is more of a case that the inmates are running the asylum. Betty, Dear Sweet Betty, how often have you yourself fallen victim to vile insults from the cretins and vermin over there, and for absolutly no reason at all. True there are a few, a very few, who do not conduct themselves like that , you being one of then as you are always a lady.
sometimes I think 1/2 of them are in jail and the other 3/4 should be.
also seems that , say a year or so ago they had 3 or 4 times the ads they now have.
I would not be surprised to find out one day that the whole thing went down the old porcelain recceptacle.

The problem with UG is that the moderator let it become a place where people would go to insult the providers and call each other stupid names and derogatory terms. In other words the moderator was NOT doing his job and it got out of hand. People that were banned were coming back under different names and posting the same stupid put downs and name calling. To be quite honest the moderator really sucks at his job over there and I always thought and still do that the people posting all the insulting remarks were his friends or himself under aliases because he likes to stir trouble. He always seemed very immature to me.

Yeah, right...... it seems more like you're there every day. Is this simply a post trying to drum up business for that place? what's the old expression? "Any publicity is good publicity"?

I know lots of people do not understand Slinky ways. I had the chance to meet him in person and he's not a clown. In fact, he's a very smart guy, with a twisted sense of humor. What can I say, I'm loyal to the place that made my "name" and, believe or not, I have many many clients from UG. Every board has rules they enforce. I think UG gives much more freedom to providers than any other board.
I have no problem following UG guidelines, reason I'm still there. Vile jabs towards me? well, yes, but it comes with the territory of being a poster. It's all good, I have a very thick skin. Thanks for the compliments

How can you possibly say the people over there are so bad,when so many of the same people are here, and other boards...

followme,like betty I have met slinky, on many occassions, all socially, and you really should not pass judgement on someone unless you have actually physically met them in person, and had a real comversation with them.

I am not speaking for, nor coming to the defense of Slinky, or UG. (I am no White knight, and I truly find white knight behavior vomitus) I don't even post on there much anymore.

I will be the first to say UG is like a grade school play ground, however some of the best threads are from UG,and have sparked some of the most insightful, real, meaningful conversations and debates in PMB history.

I've never met Slinky, nor have I posted on Utopia, but I lurk there sometimes. In fact, I've been thinking about posting there. (probably anonymously) I tend to agree with the comments of Betty and Vanessa. Utopia is at its best when there is a dialogue between the men and the women. Unfortunately, most of the providers get chased away by the crude and women-hating remarks of a vicious few guys. A gal does, indeed, need a thick skin to stay around there. As for the time-out this week: In the Jewish religion, this week and next are the High Holy Days a time for reflection and introspection. .. always a good thing. Is it possible that  Slinky is simply trying to get people to stop and think about their behavior on his board?

You know how women can be catty, specially in this business. Lots of smooches and ass licking on the boards but...back stabbing under aliases.
It comes with the territory of being a provider...praise and attacks. Even here, as example. How many times a good provider gets an uncalled bad review? She might not be attacked on the board, but she is on the review section. On the board, she has a way to defend herself, on the review, she's not.
So I don't see a big difference in a way women are treated on the boards. Just different methods

All of a sudden Slinky wants others to be considerate? I highly doubt that because if that were the case he would not let some of the people post what they post. I think he wants to start his little game all over again. UG has lost many good people because Slinky has not done his job as moderator the right way and the ones who suffer are the decent ones that like to contribute the right way. I haven't posted there in quite some time because of all the childishness over there and it just may be too late for UG to be what it used to be, a community where hobbyists and providers came together and shared.

When a message board ceases being an kiss ass fest where nothing negative can ever be posted about a popular provider (as if they are incapable of having an off day), and starts being a place where honest meaningful discussions can take place.... you will get heated first grade type arguments almost every time.

You have to take the good with the bad.


As a consumer... I'd rather wade thru the occasional flame war to find some honest reliable information, than read a bunch of shill posts raving about a girl who every man claims is a 9 or 10 and is the greatest thing since sliced bread, but in reality, she looks like a train wreck and can't even show up for half of her scheduled appointments because she has severe issues about what she's doing.

If you ask me, UG and other board like it, serve a better purpose and saves the common consumer allot more money than a board where negative information (however honest) is frowned upon.

I was on UG EVERYDAY, for over a year straight, I actually learned a great deal from that place, and I find Slinky pretty funny when he wants to be, and a bit of an ass when he wants to be, just like almost everyone else I know. I stopped logging in because it got to be more like an elementary school playground, than a PMB. If a regular was called out, the gloves came off, and the guilty party was SLAMMED into the ground. Some of the time it was deserved, some others it was total B.S. I just moved on to Jr. High. LOL.
