I live downtown and I've seen a lot of these images (too many if you know what I mean), but -- that is an absolutely beautiful photo of the lights. It really *captures* what they look like.

Last night (a warm night) there we thousands of migratory birds that were flying 'through' the lights ... If i recall this is the first time this has happened since the tribute began (2002,2003 -- too cold).  If you look closely you can see them.

Thanks for the kind words. The birds you saw were actually moths. I went to the base of the lights and saw them first hand, as I havent seen them the first two years. Unfortunately, due to the long exposure requirements, they show up as white dashes. lol
