Naomi your pricing is high for someone without reviews. BUT what the client needs to understand is that he either takes you or not at your posted pricing. It is that simple. Move on dude without negotiating. If you decide you want a little more action than you are getting at $750 you may run a special. However, these jerks will still try to lowball you.

I know you are a newbie but putting a post to whine and make yourself sound special is pretty desperate to get some attention.  
If you have done your research before entering this hobby, you should know that you will get messages from people who will haggle, you will have cancellations and people will flake out on you, you will have fake reviews etc. If you intend to make a big deal about every small incident than you are not ready to be a courtesan, you are a drama queen fit for bp.

After checking your website, your rates are slightly above average for NYC, but not outlandish by any means.  At least at the TER level.  If you check out other websites (I can think of one that is big in the NY metro area and NJ), you will find that many hobbyists would consider you (and most of us here) to be "high rollers".  $$$$ and up is too much for their beer budgets, and above what they they are willing to pay.  That's fine...there's nothing wrong (actually, it's smart) with having a budget, but most of who have a few more bucks to spend would rather drink Sam Adams than Bud or Miller, when we drink beer, of course.  I'm sure you get the analogy.    

Although I am hobbyist, from what I've heard over the years, only about 10 - 20% of the inquiries that ladies receive are serious enough to warrant their taking the time to screen them as potential new clients...the rest are are not worth the time.   Am I wrong?

In general, I think it's funny that ladies come to TER for FREE! advertising, and believe they can demand a higher rate, than they would on a site that they pay to advertise on. I'm not saying you/they can't, I only find it to be somewhat illogical.

I think he's wrong in how he said it, black, asian, white, purple, green, ALL races of women are on back page, and all races of women on back page have had ridiculously low rates. With that being said, it is VERY easy to find an african american woman in this industry and its hard to get them work.  
 
I have hired beautiful AA women, only for them to get a few appts at low rates if we're lucky, compared to my hiring a average GND blonde white lady and having to turn appointments down for her on any given day. They can both be same in service and attitude. I agree that it would be very hard for an AA woman to get 750 in NYC, period. NYC is THE city to be with the higher rates, ( disagree with the gent that said her rates are high for NYC, absurd) I think her rates are high period. Ive always said you can charge whatever you want, the consumers will determine what rates you actually stay at. You can be $600 an hour on your web site all day and get 1 appt a month or you can be 350, 400 an hour and make enough money to live. However she may be the type who only wants 1, 2 appointment a month, and has a full time career? I know from applicants Ive spoken with, my own friends, other indies that it is very hard for a gorgeous AA woman to charge high rates, period. Only she knows if the emails and phone calls are coming in. If she is charging 750 and getting it, then thats great for her. I have noticed in the last few years that more women entering this industry have more unrealistic expectations and want ridiculous rates.  Im not talking shit or insulting, its just IMHO the way it is.  
 
This isn't Capital one, we don't need to know whats going in her wallet, its her business. If you won't pay her rate move on, if she gets appointments then goody gum drops for her, if she changes rates then that's her business. Also, some places are better to advertise than others, on certain sites you can expect the hagglers, whereas on certain sites they are serious bookers.

I found this thread educational.  I dip into the hobby every now and again.  If a woman catches my eye as a possible companion that I might be interested in spending some time with, I make a record of it and if I'm in her city, I may just give her a call.  Naomi (the OP) was on my list, which is what led me to click through to the thread.

Wow.  What really blew me away is the number of people who just classified her as an AA woman and treated all AA women as interchangeable - so if one charges $100, no other AA woman should charge more.  Really?  You couldn't tell from her website (and from doing a bit of research) that what she's offering is more than just some wicky-wacky, but rather she is offering intelligent, warm, elegant companionship?  And that $750 for 90 min -- that's a $500/hr rate, gents -- is just not that expensive for a high-caliber lady of ANY ethnicity, particularly in NY?  The ladies I have seen in NY in the past few months have been in that range, and though I sometimes felt the woman fell short of what I wanted, by and large my research and care in choosing companions paid off.  And that's true of the white women, asian women, AA women and latina women, uniformly.  Shop for what you think will make you happy, do a  bit of research and don't expect women of ANY ethnicity to be interchangeable.  They're not -- they are each individuals, with different personalities, different appearances, different mindsets and different approaches.  And that's how it should be -- different people like different things and find different things interesting, people have different priorities and are willing to pay for some things and not others.  

If all you want is a vagina with a person attached for purposes of mobility, then looking at ads for women who charge $750 for ninety minutes isn't a good use of your time.  For that, go for the $100 BP provider.  If you do go with the high-end price and end up paying $750 and get disappointed, well, that's what reviews are for.  It's perfectly legitimate to say that for $750 you expected more than what you got, if that's what your experience was.  But ahead of time?  to assume before you meet and before you know what you're getting that it can't possibly be worth it?  How the heck do you know she's not going to give you a real $750 worth of experience?
