Arturo's is great for brick oven pizza.  Sit at the bar, drink, have a pie and listen to the piano player.  Very cool place.

Normally I might suggest Otto's as its a Mario Batelli place but they recently got a B rating from the health dept.

Hi,

Best Steak?

Best Pizza?

and, other places not specific fare.

Thank You, in advance for your kindness.......

Price range? What type of dining experience are you looking for? Do you have any preferences for various ethnic cuisines (Italian, French, Japanese, Thai, etc.). Midtown is a large area and has literally tons of options, so narrowing them down a bit will give us a better idea of what you're looking for.

For steak you have your share of the chains - Ruth's Chris, Capital Grill, etc. but I would recommend Ben Benson's on 52 Street between 6th and 7th

For Italian, there's a place one block north called REMI on 53rd between 6th and 7th that very good.

For Pizza, I would head down to Little Italy Prince Street/Spring Street (technically downtown, but a short subway ride) area and you'll have your pick.  There's a small place on Mott Street called Lasso NYC that has great brick oven pizzas.

OK,

Traditional American

and

The real deal....Italian I love messy pizza where it is dripping down my chin kinda good!

Otto is overrated.  Another recommendation for Arturo's!

Best steak and two pound lobster probably The Palm or Palm Too.  If you like Sushi then Hatsuhana is good.

But best places are downtown.  If you are just looking to get a quick bite between appts that is one thing, but if you want a good mean then Palm or go downtown more.

Steak:  Bobby Van's near Grand Central (the one on E 54th is great, too).  If you can get out of midtown towards Union Square, go to the Strip House.

Pizza:  I'm not a big fan of the pizza places in midtown.  If you can make it down to Houston Street/Soho area, try Arturo's.

Italian:  My favorite is still Babbo in the Village, but it's not that easy to get in.  A very off-the-run but great place in midtown is Teodora on E. 57th between Lex/3rd.

Sushi:  Best sushi in the city is at Sushi of Gari on E. 78th, Sushi of Gari 46 on W. 46th, or Gari on the upper west.

And of course Nobu is always great if you want Japanese food.
