Norma's is a restaurant in the hotel, and they do have a phenomenal brunch.

However, the burger joint is a separate place.  Across the hall... Hidden.

The cache of walking through the upscale Parker Meridian through a curtain and into greasy burger joint is more fun than the actual food, which is just okay.

I like Corner Bistro because it's an authentic old New York bar. And the burgers aren't bad.

But Island Burgers and Shakes on 11th Ave & 51st Street has fabulous, large burgers and terrific shakes. No fries (unfortunately). Really, it's hard to beat.

db Bistro, while good, is kind of fussy for a burger joint. There's one in the Village on Sixth Ave too.

Been to burger joint a few times, not the best, not the worst.  Prefer shake shack.

... but I would recommend in my Village neighborhood the Corner Bistro at West 4th Street between West 12th and Jane or BLT Burger at Sixth Avenue near West 12th...

...but now there are a zillion great places.  Try Zagat.com

Last time I was at the 21 Club the burger was $21!  Yes, I said $21 Efn dollars.

I never said they weren't over-priced!  There are now some in NYC that are even more than that!

You are so right Lina, its stuffed with foie graf & beef shortribs, amazing.

There's also a Five Napkin Burger at Bleecker and Seventh

I had no idea there was one there!  Thank you SO much.  I really, really need one, right about now.

Try The Royale Bar on Ave C and 10th
One of the best bars and burgers to hang out and relax

How about Five Guys Burgers!!  I heard Zagat actual rated "Best Burger" last year!!  As for locations, these a few in NYC, but I went to 34th & 8th Ave.

I have eaten there many times but not in NYC...it IS a VERY good burger. But I am in search of burger nirvana

1291 3rd Ave     am i the only one who knows this?  corner bistro is great too

In my opinion, one Five Napkin Burger for Two and two consenting adults is considered a threesome.

Although I sing the praises of the 99 cent pizza places all over the city, I just do not have the guts to try the 99 cent burger places. I do not even want to know whether or not there's really meat in 99 cent burger, let alone what kind of meat.

they just opened in Times Square...

1451 Broadway
(41st & Broadway)

If the burgers there are anything like the original location in Santa Monica, then they will soon be recognized as the best in NYC also.

On side note, Cara, we've swapped some emails, and have a mutual friend, but the winds have not yet brought our sails into the same port of call at the same time...

Any chance I can buy you some fries to go with that burger???
