How much would one tip to keep a doorman quiet?

I'm not in the provider only section so I'm asking this question here. Hopefully other providers can help out with this question. I've been wanting to know this for a longggggggg time haha :P.

I'm wanting to do incall appointments out of an apartment. For those of you who use an apartment, how do you deal with doormen? Shouldn't having numerous male visitors going up to your room daily send a red flag to doormen? Or do they know what you're up to and turn a blind eye?

that shouldn't be difficult in the US right?! Then make sure your flat isn't  close to reception and you are fine as they will not think all the boys are going to the same flat.

Also no cameras is best, which is a bit of a challenge in London where I am based, since there are cameras everywhere in London.

Good luck!

rent in a building with no door man and just an intercom. That's always worked for me. When the gent is buzzed in, no one has any idea which floor or apartment he is heading to.

They know, and they get paid off.

Doormen know everything.  They know when a guy comes up and when he comes down, and if the visitors are always up there in hourly increments, it's not hard to figure it out, especially if your client base would lool nothing like he would expect your dates in real life to look like.

I saw an UTR Russian girl in midtown west recently, and our session lasted about three or four hours.  While I would love to attribute it 100% to chemistry, the truth is probably that she kept me around for several hours to throw off the doorman.

There are some buildings where the door man sits at a desk reading the newspaper and doesn't even look at who passes by.  Some don't ask anything but give a "hello" or nod to let you know you've been seen but don't care where you're going (you're on video anyway).  Some buildings ask you to sign in. Some ask where you're going to weed out total weirdos but don't bother to confirm it; i.e., if you say 2107 in an 18-story building, they ask for more info, if you say 2121 and the apt numbers only go up to nn18, you'll be quizzed further, if you say 2107 and that's THEIR apartment, you're in big trouble. There are the buildings where the doorman confirms by telephone with the tenant that you are to be allowed in; "Hello Ms Roe. There is a Mr Doe here to see you. Shall I let him in? ... Yes, he's neatly attired. ... Yes, I do notice an envelope sticking out of his pocket."

Some buildings have doormen during business hours only and locked / buzzer systems at night.  Some buildings have doormen only at night for security of the tenants (less traffic at night, need to deter people from sneaking in). Some have 24/7 doormen.

I guess you could test a building yourself just by walking in, taking an elevator ride and leaving again. Or being stopped before you can.

Even if it weren't for my private business affairs, I don't like anyone knowing my comings and goings and as someone else stated, doormen know everything!

If you have an opportunity, rent a walk up!

agreed! Anything higher than the 2nd floor, with no elevator, is too many stairs for many people and too much foot traffic in general.

I don't use an apartment w a doorman...and luckily there's no nosy neighbors, either. It's large enough that no one notices the added traffic but small enough that not just anyone can walk through the front door.

When I was looking for an apartment, my broker prob. thought I was down right strange to specify I didn't want a doorman building. Oh, and first floor ideally.

my ex is a door man in Nyc, UES -  they know. They see the girls go in all the time, and it's pretty obvious when they leave about one hour later. That's why they get tipped so well around the holidays. Not to say anything. I'd imagine it'd work the other way as well, as long as you weren't disturbing others/getting complaints...
