I'm still relatively new to the hobbyist world since i sporadically been visiting providers for the past year & 1/2. but I've been weighing out options on good providers based on pricing and come to realize that some that are figuratively expensive are not so great with the experience. even though most have good reviews i tend to enjoy my time better with a provider at a 100-150 rate than a 400-600 rate.  even had two for the price! my question is are you really getting what you pay for? i mean as far as the level of pleasure. sure the looks would be on a porn-star to playmate level at 400 than the neighborhood smut at 150, but really am i that naive to put looks over pleasure? not saying that i would spend for a beastly looking thing..lol, but really, the providers ive seen a the lower rate were decent enough that i wouldn't mind being caught with; in public; in the daytime, (if you know what i mean). and the experience was greater than what I've had with the Model "Esq".  again i am still new to this but i guess to each its own huh?

You do when you play within your financial means.  If you have to justify the cost, then it may not be the best experience for you. You'll always feel disenchanted, and or slighted when you play outside your league.  Which is why you are happy with your $100 experience.  100-150 is your comfort zone and your expectations are being met.  
Consider yourself lucky.  It takes some men years to figure out what you have in 1.5 years.  

I'm not sure where you're finding $100-$150's and I'm assuming they're 15's on BP...but the CBJ is a deal-breaker for me, thus I also hunt around but it seems the GFE/BBBJ tipping point is at the $300-$350 mark, IMO, w/ a reputable agency.

The highest I've went is $800 and honestly, like 2much2fit said, it was on par w/ a $400 provider...nothing extra or special or looks-wise was better. I did schedule PS, Brooke Banner once @ $1.2k + I believe an extra $200 to videotape, but she canceled her NYC tour...so that never became of frutition.

A lot, if not all, BP providers, IMO, are volume-based/revolving door and are overly protective of their health and safety to offer GFE or let their guard down slightly to enjoy themselves and what they do. Because of their volume, they probably do not screen, nor have the time to...the only screening is for possible LE, not if the client is white-listed, an active TER reviewer, yadda yadda.

Side note: the 350 in my handle is because I used to own a Nissan 350z, not because I only see providers for $350, LOL.

I don't think there is any universal answer about getting what you pay for in the performance department. However, I think tantan was right on the money about girls on the lower end of the pay scale not being GFE or really caring whether you have a good time. I've had experiences where the girls grabbed onto the cover during FS, which was a real turn off or saying no to touching or licking their breasts and you can tell when a girl just wants you to finish and go away. I don't expect them to fall in love with me or that I'm the best they ever had but I least want to feel like she's having a good time and cares whether I am having a good time. That's why for me I do tend to go for gals in the $400 and up range. My experience (and there are always exceptions) is that those girls are better performance wise and almost always better looks wise. And although I've seen a number of porn stars they are better than the $400-$800 range girls but not so much as to justify the price difference. The reason I ocassionally go for the porn stars is because its a fantasy fulfilled and you know that they are usually free of hang-ups.

A few years back the best experience you could have for a true GFE time was about $300.  You could get the same experience for more but nothing really over the top, unless you consider an actual porn star.  It seems to be around $350-400 now.  If you are finding girls at $100/150 I am betting they are pump and dump.

My best experiences have been when I've become a regular customer of someone who operates in 300 - 400 range.  We get to both know what each other enjoys and how to enjoy one another's company.  A few years ago I met a provider through craigslist, which was risky.  She was definitely not GFE but cute and personable.  So I saw her a couple more times and ended up becoming a regular client.  After a few sessions she became very comfortable with me and my sessions became GFE as she made exceptions to her tradiditional rules.  Even though she's "Semi retired" now we still get together occasionally.  A few months ago she tried greek for the first time ever with me.

My point is, sometimes its not just about getting what you pay for, its also about investing the time.

The short answer is yes. Down here in Baltimore The GFE tipping point is $ 250- $300/ hr so I can't imagine what you're getting in NYC and it's environs (unless you're doing 15 or 30 min. dates).

I may charge more than a lot of providers. I see a select few when I tour due to my extensive modeling career. But, IMO every rovider is differerent and unique in her own skills. Thats why I always encourage those on my sire to read reviews/ homework. Any female can suck in the sack or fuck in the sack. It depends on the female really. Good luck to ya with future rendezvous!
