I am a Texas girl that is getting my NYC cherry popped [moderated]. I have heard there are an infinite number of fun and exciting things to do there. In my downtime and with my clients, I like to enjoy the best of what a city has to offer, but in NYC it is hard to know where to start. Lucky for me I have you like-minded local folks to guide me!
I want to know the cities best:
Lingerie shops (of course) Sushi Chinese food funky, high-quality, moderately priced clothing shops (think Melrose Ave. in LA) Tourist Spots Hotel bars... Hip, upscale nightclubs(I want to bump into Puff Daddy..or whatever his name is now) just everything!
What should I not go home without doing?
I'm so excited! Chicago was amazing to me, I can't even imagine how cool Manhattan is!
1) Don't miss the traditional tourist spots. Go to the top of the Empire State Building. Take a walk through the Central Park Zoo, then walk down Fifth Ave to Rockefeller Center. Take a round-trip ride on the Staten Island Ferry. Visit the South Street Seaport before or after that. It's easy to walk across lower Manhattan from there to visit Ground Zero. 2) Greenwich Village is charming. Walk down Bleeker St. Have brunch at The Spotted Pig. 3) The meatpacking district is very cool and hip. There's also a fun bar there called Hogs and Heifers. A real biker bar, but safe. 4) I know nothing about the club scene (or lingerie shops). 5) Have a terrific visit to the greatest city in the world.
There are tons of discussions about the best of New York .... just use the search button and you will get plenty of suggestions.
Enjoy your stay! Best time of the year for outdoor fun.

Thank you so much! I wrote down your suggestions and will do as many as I can!
