So I had an appointment with one of my regular providers who visits every few weeks. We were talking about business and stuff and she mentioned how her two trips here where becoming less productive, and she was thinking of taking a break and not coming back till late fall or early winter.

I mentioned how economy is tighter and during summer people travel and have less play time and money, She said she was doing well everywhere else, and really thought it was the discount girls on backpage taking a bite and the rip off there where scaring away good clients.

Anybody else seeing this or is just a supply and demand thing with backpage really having an impact?

She is well reviewed been around for a while, extremely reasonable price wise, personally I can't see why she doesn't have a line out the door ... but who knows.

I'd name drop but don't want to fall into the "lord of the shills" or "harry potter and the deathly shills" category

It's not the BP discount girls.  Most are phony anyway.

It's called:

1) 98 degree sweltering weather
2) summer vacation time; we do go on vacation
3) a shitty economy where guys aren't blowing 6 bills every week
4) a shitty economy where more providers are surfacing and competing for the bucks

I'm probably leaving off a few but you get my drift.

For what it's worth, I had was trying to arrange for appointments last week and found that the extreme heat had a lot to do with things.  No one felt like doing anything, and I even had a few providers ask to delay appointments to this week because they didn't feel like doing anything because it was so hot (even with air conditioning).  So, it looks like that there was a slowdown on both the supply and the demand side of the equation...

But honestly, I think it is because people are not hydrating themselves enough when we get heat like this. I always go on a juice fast when the temperature gets above 96 degrees. I dont eat food and just blend all my fruits into a juice with crushed ice. I stay very hydrated and the hydration combined with the tropical-like heat seems to make me rediculously horny then. It was difficult to get through this week being so horny while everyone else was exhausted from the heat. So, please be sure to drink at least 1 liter of water, eat fruits, and avoid heavy meals during a heat wave. :-)

I'm somewhat in a relationship which has cut down my hobbying.   Even if i wasn't, my todo list is way longer than I could accomplish.    And I even limit my choices to 400 roses or less with very few exceptions.

With the eonomy so very tight, apprehension on the horizon for all, alot of working girls hitting the scene its time that the indies and established agencies offer greatly reduced "teaser" rates as an intro to themselves.

Its just like a store lowers the price on items to get you shopping at that store in the future.

Biz is biz, ladies, you need to get the client in the door, show your talents, then make him a regular.  Need to advertise as a limited time 2 week intro special during the slow summer months.  the last heat spell had to kill biz, I know I would not want to travel to a location, shower, play, shower and then get slammed by the heat and humidity again returning to the office or heading home.

Everyday and every week cannot be Xmas with the money rolling in, you need to establish a new base of regulars.  Drop the 400 to 250-300.  Alot of agencies are at the 250 level without any upsells on special requests (wink) to get get the girls to make some money.  We all understand the goods are not perishable but the monthly rent bills, advertising bills all keep coming in.

Only other choice is just to close shop for the summer months and return mid-Sept after the kids are back in school.

Just a thought.

I blame the economy and summer time.
I don't blame BP girls so much, although there are more of them now, because of the recession.
NYC isn't a guaranteed cash cow, either. Everyone here has ups and downs.

I also think all providers have different financial needs...
If a girl needs more money, she is going to be hitting that ceiling right now.
If a provider has an austere lifetstyle, she is more likely to be weathering this storm right now...
