i always wondered why no one offers snow specials.  its not like business is booming on those days.  and i dont mean a lower than usual rate.  you dont want the lower rung hobbyists coming to your door.  i mean extra time for your usual rate.  example 400 for 90min instead of 60min etc.  today i was trolling because work was dead bec of the storm and was looking to go somewhere for an hour or 2

I actually had two outcalls today ( and another one I couldn't accommodate, ) and they both paid me 100$ more for the 'snow day' traveling troubles....

wow cspaz good line. your name really fits.   just the opposite.  i never go with the cheap providers or give fake reviews for the agencies like you do.  i was referring to you when i said lower rung hobbyists.

thank you all for the interesting replies.  i was just asking what many other hobbyists were thinking in terms of spending some money to help get out of work on a snow day.

i usually do incall but it does make sense to pay extra if someone goes through the trouble to travel to you.
i once drove to san diego for 1.5 hrs to spend 2 hrs at frenchies pleasure palace (it was worth the trip).

if anything i would expect my full rate and definitely a tip if i come to you in a storm like this
how dare you expect us to work in this weather for less
if you are too cheap to hobby don't use the weather as an excuse to screw us over
also, don't assume business isn't booming
you aren't special and there are plenty of men who are around

i am not talking about outcall which i have already stated definitely warrants a generous tip above the rate.  im talking about incall.  2 of my regulars emailed me that they werent busy if i wanted to make an appointment

Many of us don't live in our incall spaces, and don't hang out in them all day waiting for biz. Personally, it takes me 45 minutes on the train or almost as long in a cab to get to mine. I wish it were easier, but it'll be a cold day in hell before I move to midtown Manhattan.

If you can't afford to pay $400 why can you afford to pay $350? Maybe you should find a different hobby.  Maybe stamp collecting.

I was with an itty bitty spinner from Cuba tonight in Costa Rica and she was fucking adorable. I am coming to appreciate spinners.

Why would a provider offer a extra to the hobby at large on account of weather?  If she's established, she will never have to...she'll have the resources to get through a few days of snow. just as most of us hobbyists would.  Plus that, her good clients will be there if she needs us to be

i can afford whatever i want!  i wasnt suggesting that girls should lower their rates.  i was saying to only those incall providers who live at their incall to give a little extra time for their rate.

I'm not impressed by the OP but I was impressed with his ability to turn the other cheek and take criticism, in some cases based on misinterpretation. He stuck to the ideas in his OP.

I don't agree with his post but I think the people who posted came off worse than the OP.

I expect at least one of y'all will turn the issue into me personally. It won't change the fact many of you screwed up, particularly on Vday. Own it.

Happy Vday to the rest.

Same thing.  Time is money.  You're basically asking for a cheaper rate for her time, just because it's snowing.  Claro?

flowerchild 819 reads

as someone below mentioned, we still all have to leave our house and still travel to our incall
and lets say you were our only appointment, you are asking for me to leave my house to a hotel to spend EXTRA time with you for LESS money
also last i checked, hotel rates and cab fare will still say the same despite the weather, so i will still have to spend the same amount of money to see clients
even the girls who work in agencies have to travel in the snow to work
screw you for being cheap

as a hobbyist of course you're biased
no one is attacking him at all
but you have to realize how that thinking harms us providers
as someone mentioned our time is money
No one is saying OP is a horrible person, and despite the cheapness he displays, I'm sure he is asking this in innocence
just don't post on the boards if you cant handle the truth from providers, we aren't here to kiss your ass, and vice versa
and besides, if a client had pulled something like this in person, he really would have gotten his feelings hurt
hobbyists need to come to the realization that we aren't as desperate as you want us to be
want discounts try back page, because there are no discounts for us when we need to pay hotel fees, photographers, website fees, work supplies, etc
asking for free time is disrespectful no matter how you twist it
holiday or not, I'm not sugarcoating anything

As I said, he was the bigger person in his posts. I didn't say I agreed with him. How is that siding with him?

this isn't an issue of who's the bigger person
we are all having a simple discussion and if you cant handle reading some of the comments, don't read the thread
i stand by everything I've posted and i don't feel like anyone has been mean to him
if he didn't want to come across a certain way and if he wants us to believe that he "can afford whatever he wants" he shouldn't be going around asking for time that he isn't willing to pay for
don't turn him into a victim, he wrote a stupid post so he has no other choice but to take the criticism
"screw you for being cheap" is completely accurate
some client expects me spend extra time with him for free without paying damn right he's cheap and he can kindly go and screw himself- that way he can spend as much time getting off as he likes and not have to pay a cent
consider it some well meaning advice :)

You have no more right here than anyone else (unless you bought ter).
The thing is that yelling louder doesn't make you right.
Take your own advice and ignore my posts.
You just sound like an ars now. Silly and emotional. Lol.
Come play on the national board sometime.

I'm not the one whining about the comments though and griping about being nice on valentines day....so there was no point in quoting me
I can more than handle the threads on here and it's sad that someone who literally spends everyday on this site like you do is so sensitive- you're literally in every thread Every day (lonely much?)
No one is yelling, no one is being mean, and you're the only one who's offended and emotional
I have a sense of humor about the whole thing
So the more you talk the more you contradict yourself, you should stop now

+ 250 for 1-3 inches
+ 500 for 4 inches or more
+ 750 and undying adoration for Blizzard conditions.

If I need to leave my apartment (which I do for incall and outcall, not stupid enough to work from home), then there ought to be appreciation for that.

Snow Special disclaimer: Doesn't apply to those I know and love. xoxo to existing friends.

Kate

Hi ANL,

Exactly, we're just having fun. It's easy to get heated- the thing is that your note assumes we always need people to come knock on the door. The other thing is that most women are pretty generous with regulars as is- especially on super bad weather days. It's a perk of being a regular. Advertising something that you might give to regulars anyway is akin to marketing to the riff raff.

I came up with something to add to my snow special! Cozy hot chocolate in bed! All we need is my fave powdered chocolate, warm milk, and marshmallows! Those are gonna be new staples in my KateKit bag. LOL. :)

Stay warm everyone!

Kiss me,

Kate
