I think Happy was just concerned that if she dyes, she might not always be red. So, if hair color is important then you just want to let her know in advance, in case you catch her when she's not red.
Not crazy that sometimes a natural redhead changes her hair color. I had a college roomie who was a natural redhead who once in awhile went back and forth with blonde (sometimes brown) hair.
