So I'm sitting in my room looking at an email from a provider telling me she assumes we're not meeting since I haven't responded to her.

Tonight's meeting was scheduled over a week ago by email. She doesn't publish a phone number. I reconfirmed as asked a day before and told her that I might need to push the time back but would let her know today. She responded no problem.  At noontime, I confirmed the time. Late this afternoon, she emails asking if we're still on. I'm in the car driving the highway so I respond yes. Shortly after that I pulled into a rest area and sent a longer email to confirm asking her to email or call me to confirm that she got my message. No response was received. Next I get an email that says I'm on the way-email me your room#. Now I hate to do that, but I did. Finally she sends an email that says "I'm here". I replied OK, come up. Ten minutes later I get the I assume we're not meeting. I replied, again, with a room#. The final message chastises me because I have a Blackberry and didn't send her a cancellation email!  WTF.

She uses a gmail account. I noticed that it doesn't show the email that she's replying to. If she would have just made a phone call, there would have been no problem. Get a throwaway phone, but you can't rely on email being timely and error free.
