I don't know how long this thread will last, but the NY chat was explosive:

Dingus confessed to winning a free one hour session from NYConfidential BEFORE he became moderator--he paid for a second hour.

Furthermore, he pointed out that there were many links between NYConfidential and the senior staff at TER.

Point Number one, while perhaps an embarrasment, is not really o conflict of interest.

Point Number two has been obvious for a long time - confirmation is nice, but totally unnecessary.

BTW I see nothing wrong with Dingus getting some free nookie.  This is hardly the place to be overly concerned with journalistic ethics.

I may regret asking this, but why does that matter?  I am not trying to be a wise-guy, but I fail to the significance of all this.

Isn't this board rather ill-suited for the "explosive" revelation that a moderator is not living up to the highest of ethical standards?
