Not exactly earth-shattering conclusions in this article

Interesting article on whether the demand for higher-end providers is greater than the demand for low-end providers. But here are the better questions for hobbyists on this board:

(1) What is the typical price point (e.g., $400/hour) for a TER provider rated 8/8 or higher in your city/market?

(2) Would you do more business with a provider who has a lower appearance rating but a higher performance rating (say 7/8 or 6/8) IF that provider had lower rates (e.g., $250/hr)? In other words, would you trade beauty for price if performance stayed the same?

In the MD/DC/VA market the typical price point for an 8/8 is about $275 (range is $250 to $300). Visiting escorts are usually $300 to $350. In the trade off between looks or performance if price were constant I'ld favor performance. I have found that looks and level of service are pretty consistant at the $200 to $250 range. If I paid anymore Greek would have to be offered.

For example:

"Less attractive and even cheaper prostitutes may still be available, but for a variety of very good reasons, the customer will not desire the cheapest option, suggesting prostitution services can be classified as a Giffen good."

And, I wish they had picked a better title.  Comparing a person with rice is demeaning.

I don't think the author is comparing a person with rice.  He's just using examples to discuss economic concepts.

It makes him sound crude and uneducated when he uses phrases such as "peasants in China" and "they are too poor".

So you can't say peasant now?  Please let us know what the acceptable term might be.
