So I've had a UTR arrangement with a fashion model for a few years, and sadly she just retired....looking for a REAL model for a long-term relationship and some travel. Pls PM with any ideas.  Thx!

You definitely CAN PM an alias.  Just click on the OPs alias and a message box will appear.  You can't PM someone who doesn't have VIP.  But since you can't have an alias unless you have VIP, both the handle and alias can be PM'd.
What's hard to know is how to tell an alias from a non-VIP handle, because both are black when you open one of their posts.  But if you click on them, you'll find out which is which by whether a PM message box comes up.

but you can't click on alias handles, at least I've never been. You have to copy and paste the handle into a new message. But it does work.

If you open a post and the handle is black, you click on it.  If it opens a message box, that means it's an alias for a VIP handle  If it doesn't, it's a non VIP handle,, not an alias.

I don't use tree view, only flat. When in flat mode, you can't click on aliases. In tree mode, apparently you can. We were just talking circles around each other. Interesting little factoid learned today! Thank you.

I also strongly suggest you move to tree mode.  Flat mode makes it very hard to be clear on who's responding to a given post and leads to mistakes.
