I have been a fan since the 80's  
used to love watching the old re runs on a&e

youtube john candy on latenight

its as good as jackie gleason on johnny carson

When dave retires there will be nothing left on tv for me.

Dave is an American Icon

Dave Letterman is a total American Icon. I had the chance to hear him speak several years ago at a Seminar I attended with a friend and he gave the Keynote. It will be interesting to see how his departure effects the public viewers and fans of his.

The ending of an era

After Carson departed the Tonight Show, it just wasn't the same and I stopped watching. Seeing Dave ending his run will be bitter sweet.  

Late night shows will never be the same. I will miss it.
