Hello,
This is Freya from San Diego.  I'm trying to plan my trip to NY.  I know a few people have mentioned a few specific hotels to me, and I do appreciate that.  I just wonder if someone familiar with NYC could give me a brief description of where I want to stay when I go there.  For example, maybe there's a 10 block area that is a good place to stay.  I can see Central Park on the map in Manhattan.  Is that the main place people like to go?  I don't even know enough about NYC to ask my questions well.  I want to experience NYC.  But I don't want to pay anymore than I have to for a decent hotel.  It looks like airfare pluc a hotel for 6 nights is going to cost around 1500.  What are the 3-5 main things I will want to see and do in NY?  Where should I stay (in general)?  Can you tell me how to see where I want to be on a map maybe in relation to Central Park or some other recognizeable landmarks?

I hope you guys understand what I'm trying to figure out.
